Here in San Diego I go to the local trash pickup company. They must weigh the trucks out and before going to the land fills. They will do mine for 8 bucks.
My truck full of fuel, me and my girl, and a couple suitcases weighed right at 7000pounds on the CAT scales a while back. The other day I loaded 3600 pounds worth of 40 pound bags of dirt and manure in the back of my truck. I was full of fuel, had my 92 pound girlfriend along, and then stopped to pick up three temporary workers to help unload the dirt. Each one was easily over 200 pounds. My total truck weight was something over 11,000 pounds. Believe it or not it rides like a Cadillac with that much weight on it. By the way my truck has the trailer towing package and a camper package. Even with all of this weight, the back end of the truck was still sitting higher in the back than the front (not much higher but higher). Does anybody know how much weight it takes to make this truck squat down in the back? My gosh... a powerpuke will squat down in the back if you throw a couple 2x4's in the bed. Out of curiosity I just looked at the door tag and it said maximum weight was roughly 10,000 pounds. It said this was with 245-75-R16's and I've got 265-75-R16's. I guess I was overweight. At least I had the tires aired up...
