Over the past few days the old Ram didn't want to start to easy. Well this morning it wouldn't start at all. I had to jump it with the Expedition and it took a while for it to charge. It finally started and the gauge shows 14v's. I'm going to replace the battery's today. The problem I have is that the check engine light is on now. The code that comes up is "No bu5" or No buS. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it without going to the Stealer. I have 57,000 miles on it. Please help.

If you're getting No Bus displayed in the odometer window, that means the instrument cluster is not picking up any signals on the CCD Bus. I had something similar happen recently (although it never cause any engine problems), but I would get the No Bus signal, Check Engine Light and also have all the other indicators lights on as well.

If you look up under the dash, just to the left of the clutch (or where the clutch should be if you're shiftless ;)), you'll see a bundle of wires covered with a plastic cover. Move from there toward the firewall and you'll see a plug. This is the plug that goes to the instrument cluster. I'd check this connection to make sure it's secure. You may want to unplug it and reconnect it just to be sure. If this doesn't solve it, you may have corrosion on some pins in one of the plug on the CCD bus.

When I took mine to the dealer, it turned out that my instrument cluster had shorted and had to be replaced, hopefully you'll get off with an easier fix.
