Might be a stupid question here but I can't figure out what this part would be called and I can't find a replacement for it. Turns out my front passenger side axle u-joint is seized up. I took out the axle shafts and could not move the u-joint at all trying to put some leverage on it. So when it was inside the axle it was grinding around the inside making the hole where it comes out of the hub going to the wheel larger than it should be and made some sort of clip that's supposed to go in there not fit anymore. I'm not an expert on this stuff so I'm sure some of my terminology is off; here's a few pics so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

The bolts in the pictures are on backwards so with the ends of the bolts facing the camera is what would bolt onto the axle and face outside and the locking hub would screw into those 6 little holes; with the bolt heads facing the camera would actually bolt on facing towards the axle. That is a picture of the good one the other one has a bigger hole in the center and the stuff in the middle fell out when i took it apart. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

look at some of the 4 wheel drive suppliers and get a new set of warn locking hubs. much better than the ones that are on your truck.

Oh ok so that piece is just part of the locking hubs I have and getting some new warn ones will just bolt right up to hub there?

Looks like the old slectro hubs I think mile marker took them over there lots ot out there call Boyce Equipment in Ogden, Ut

Oh ok I understand now thanks a lot for the info guys. I did some more research and found that they mostly stopped the external hubs after 89. Lucky me. So what do you guys think is a better setup the internal or external hubs? It would be cheaper I'm sure just to buy those selector locking hubs but if I convert to internal and buy warns would that be better in the long run?

Call Summit Racing you can get new slectro hub's for 180.00 to change hub's you would have to change out the hub rotor assembly . that would be about 600.

Ive had my slectro's for 2 years now and have a friend with slectro hubs for years with no issues with them.
