OK here are the symptoms, a constent squeak coming somewhere from driveline. Now the real kicker is I only get the noise after truck is warm and has been at freeway speeds, then will disappear after shutting down and restarting! Also it seems to become less audible at speeds below 25. Its high pitched and driving me insane. Any help would be apreciated.

Be more specific. In gear/out of gear, coasting versus pulling uphill, etc.

Right off, if you think it's the driveline, it may be the drive shaft support (carrier) or you could have a universal dry. The universals will usuall give a scrubbing squeak that I wouldn't think you could hear with a diesel engine running.

It does not matter what other variables ( in gear out of gear uphill down ) exist. Seems to be there whenever warm and up to freeway speeds. I cant here it on freeway over the diesel sound only when I get off in town. Would a u-joint noise come and go like that? Any way thanks for the response.

Bowron, I had a Cheby Blazer (K5) that would come and go until I finally saw the rust dust around one of the caps and realized it was a ujoint.

One other thing I forgot to ask..... are you sure you don't have a brake dragging just a little making it squeak? Just a thought.

I thought about the brakes but the squeak doesnt change when I hit the brakes. Maybe I will change u-joints if it continues because dealer is always a dead end. Thanks for reply Alan.
