- Has anybody looked under the manual transmission cover?
- Is it hollow under there, or have enough room to put switches and wires?
I want to cut some holes in the plastic to the front of the cover (just under the dash, north of the shifter boot), and mount some toggle switches for aux. lighting.
Or, where could I look for diagrams showing this piece?

Just remove the screws under the boot and under the cup holder and remove and do as you please,I have had mine out 3 times with clutch work, there is no reason to be shy.

There are no exposed wires for the air bag sensor under the cover. Just don't pry on the air bag sensor. I've seen them go off with firemen working on a patient and it isn't pretty.
