I got a smarty on my 01 ram 2500... Maybe i was givin the wrong impression, but from what i heard, this was supost to be the thing... my truck is fairly stock right now, Got straight pipe, intake , and a holley black lift pump... I was expection to put this Smarty on here and it giving me amazing power, by the way everybody had talked about it. Well its still a turd, It doesnt mater if im on stage 3 or 9 , it seems to have the same amount of power. whats the deal?

It isn't a power adding device. You should read up on a mod before you purchase one.



The Smarty works best when used WITH a fueling box. Sell it and buy an Edge Comp or something. Welcome to the TDR.

Im not sure if your new to forums or what but this post was in bad taste. On other boards you would get chewed for something like that. "Whats with this Dumby" ? With a comment like that your flinging poo before you even get a chance to find out the real answer to your problem. Have your freind check his fuel pressure at wide open throttle. He probabally has a lift pump that is not delivering enough fuel or an APPS not giving a proper signal.

Bob loaned me a Smarty for my '99. I disconnected the EZ,set Smarty on an upper setting and WOW! The difference was enormous. Comes on so soon and keeps going. As advertised its approx. 60 rwhp,same as the EZ,but eliminates the 2800 rpm bog out mine had. If you want enormous hp gains,you'll need to go another route. Smarty works as advertised. Looking forward to trying one on my '07.

A smarty can make great power in combination with big injectors. Try it with a set of 150+HP sticks and you will be happy.

If you didn't notice a significant difference, then the truck has other problems.

Listen, there is a very important question that none of you have asked. Is the truck an automatic?? My guess is its an automatic truck with a junk trans. You will not feel much more power with the smarty, because it makes its power down low, right where a stock auto can not transfer it to the wheels very well. Put in a nice VB and convertor and you will feel it. I noticed a huge difference with my smarty.

Big sticks and the Smarty give a 24v the bottom end that the 12v guys get to enjoy.



And Rubberneck has a good point. I've driven both a manual and an auto with the Smarty. Quite a few actually.

And a sluggish stock auto makes the truck feel lazy.

Like stated add a fueling box to the mix & see what you get. If you got it from Bob Wagner..... he has tst boxes for that truck. Smarty is unreal power on the bottom unless you have other problems as stated.
