while I was using one I had my tst off. it was awesome. after I removed it to give it back my truck was like a slug. lol. I am going to get one soon.

which tst box do you stack with the smarty? i have an 01 5spd with con ofe clutch, F. A. S. S , head studs, aroura 2000 turbo, gauges and 110 sticks. Is the smarty and or the tst box what i need to finsh the truck, i need the cats meow!!! (im on the way) these are mostly new mods i just started puttin the head back on, puttin the head studs, gasket and sticks in. but i need a box or 2!

It is a great stack from what I've read..... guys have been selling their edge comps & buying a tst to stack with the smarty. I have a drag comp stacked with smarty & couldn't imagine anything better. My brother is gonna sell his edge comp for a smarty if interested... ... he wants a smarty bad, but has a stock clutch & can't stack anything or it slips. Anyone with smarty wanna trade..... edge comp is for 98. 5-00.

I have the TST PM3 w/remote, it's nice because you have 0-9 settings on it and can adjust it on the fly. That was the only, very minor issue I had with the Smarty, no on the fly adjusting.



The TST stack better because they aren't a timing box like the Comps. You use the odd numbered Smarty programs for the timing with the TST and the even numbered Smarty programs with the timing boxes (Comps). I can't really explain it but the Smartys timing is "dynamic" and is supposed to be smoother running then the Comps timing.



If you add the TST and a Smarty, HOLD ON!



Talk to Bob Wagner, he can surely explain this better then me. The one part that I'm dead on those is the HOLD ON part!

yes the smarty and tst pm3 is the best stack. at least in my opinion. the smarty takes care of the low end and the tst takes care of the high end. I liked the smarty better than the edge ez. I am going to sell my ez and buy a smarty.

If he didnt notice any gain then he didnt install it right (fool Proof) or he has other issues the smarty alone is a power adder and changes the way the truck reacts to throtle tremendiously .



As with any mod you do doing more mods will make it better . . duh.

You're still withholding information so it's going to be impossible for anyone to accurately diagnose any possible issues with either truck... Transmission identification would be a start. Smarty could very well be "useless" if yours or his transmission or clutch is toast. Same if you have a toasted VP-44.



Smarty probably does blow away all other PROGRAMMERS... it won't be the end all power maker that an Edge Comp, TST, Redline or similar wiretapping box will be nor will it compete with a decent sized set of injectors as far as dyno power but combined with any of those types of products like the injectors I have, it delivers nice, consistent, smooth power without excess EGT's or at the sacrifice of MPG with the added bonus of high idle, tire size adjustments and code reading... .

All of the answers to your questions are in this thread if you bother to read it. I think you should send the Smarty back so someone who knows how to use it can have it. Then you should sell your truck or your "friends" truck and buy a ford.
