I shipped a cam to be ground, i shipped it in a pvc pipe. UPS still managed to break the cam AND the pvc pipe.

I'd rather not. I never wanted to bash a company or hurt anyone's business, not really my style. I was just trying draw from the experienced about what caused the cam failure. I thought i had done enough research and i tried to check everything i could during the install, that's why i didn't understand the failure And so soon, less than a year, maybe 6000 miles on it.

I understand where you are coming from, but on the flip side of that, it would be nice to save the next guy from making a couple grand mistake if there is a known manufacturer/manufacturing problem like Jetpilot suggested. I am currently experiencing an aftermarket issue of my own, but trying to find out info in the "super secret squirrel" diesel performance market isn't always the easiest thing to do. Out of all the "hobbies" I'm involved with, this has always been the biggest PIA one out of them all when looking for help with aftermarket parts/issues. This isn't aimed at Dave or anyone else, just the whole market.

I understand what you mean. Everytime i wanted/needed to know something i got help here from every direction, i am grateful for it. I struggled with whether to name names or not, but it didn't feel right. That just would have been another useless transmission thread that got locked up anyway. It's a regrind, this was my experience with regrinds.

You do realize that all UPS packages are automatically insured for $100, right? Probably too late to cash in now though. .
