What color is your interior?

At least on the 2nd Gen, using cruise lowered your MPG. Does anyone know if that is true on the 3rd Gens? My earlier posted MPG was mostly without cruise, but I did use it some.

Today I drove 200 miles almost completely interstate in the hills of WV. I used the cruise almost completely the first half of the trip. Coming back over the exact same roads and hills, I did not use it at all. I have not filled up yet to hand calc numbers, but the overhead computer listed nearly 1 MPG higher on return trip NOT using cruise. Based on that, it appears cruise still affects mileage.

Another possible factor is tires. I have the BFG On-road/Off-road tires from DC - ordered them. Don't know how much that may influence fuel economy.

Previously my best was 16. 7, with 15. 5 being the average. My 1st full tank after the reflash (which DID correct the cold weather stumble) I calculated to be 18. 6 even though the overhead still said 15. 2. I even crammed as much diesel down the throat as I could so that the numbers would be conservative if not accurate. I knew it was doing better by watching the gauge move. I'll wait 'till Wednesday to place my vote since this mileage increase has to be repeatable to mean squat...

Did second fill up this weekend. 387 miles, 23. 9 gals. = 16. 19. This was 60% in town, 40% 2 lane highway (45-65mph).

On my second fill-up I got 17. 3 opposed to 17. 0 on my first fill-up. Mostly rural roads, some in town and 50 miles fwy at 65-70 mph. No towing yet. Larv

Need move input from new 600 owners.

I think I may do this poll again in a few mouths to see if the numbers improve with more trucks and also breaking them in.

I am taking my first out of town trip tonight , going to vegas from LA so I will see if I can get out of the 13's for the first time. Got my fingers crossed.

I'm a new owner. Currently averaging 12-13 MPG around town and up to 17-19MPG on the highway. The torque converter locking up makes a big difference with the automatic. Makes me wonder if I should drive it in the tow mode around town.

At last fill up, I was at 19. 2MPG! Ive got 4506 miles on the truck right now. I hope it continues to climb, so I can edge the speedo to 75 instead of 70:)

Trip computer shows 17. 1 right now, and I've driven 200 miles on the expressway at 72MPH, and an additional 150 miles on 2 lanes and in the city, with some idling.

I agree on the tire pressure comment, I'm going to check mine, just to see.

My buddy is taking my truck today to tow his trailer. His "600" is getting 8. 8mpg..... hopefully, he can use data from my truck to convince the dealer that it isn't his "Driving Style" that is causing the bad mileage.

I have a soft tonnaue cover right now, and plan to put a new intake on the truck at my next oil change.

Speaking of oil changes, the mileage went up after my 3000mile change. Not drastically, but noticable, from 17. 8 to 18 and change.

One question, is anyone else seeing results as positive as mine, or did I simply get " A Good One"?

Thanks!

Chris

The new truck runs great, from Idaho to Pendleton, OR there was a 35 mph head wind most of the way. Had to dodge tumble weed all the way, mileage was 16 mpg at 70 mph. Left Pendleton this morning no wind 65 mph with air on 18 mpg. I know have 890 miles on the truck.

I'm thinking that when we hit 100 votes, I'll start another thread and do this over again to see if some of the "older" 600's are improving.
