Heineken is good, but the aftertaste is horrid..... just like Becks.

I had some Heineken when I flew through Amsterdam Quite tasty I tend to stay away from it here in the states because it tends to be stale. Also keep anything in green bottles out of direct sunlight because it will turn Skunky and it will not take long. Brown bottles will filter the light green will not. Something to try get some beer in green bottles take one bottle and leave it in direct sunlight for a hour take the other and keep it in the dark then take a taste it is an eye opening experience.

What if the green/clear glass bottled beer is free?



I agree... . sunlight is instant murder to beer. I doubt that any beer manufacturer will suddenly change the color of their glass just to protect the product from sunlight. Most bottled stuff comes in sixpacks/cases that are boxed and shouldn't get much sunlight.



Changing the color of the glass would be murderous to their brand image and marketing campaign... . unless they marketed it as being beneficial to the end consumer.



Light is also detrimental to the vitamin content in milk..... which is precisely why lots of dairy folks have switched to a 'light block' plastic jug..... they have successfully made the switch - with a healthy, wholesome beverage.



I wonder how a similar switch would go over with a beverage such as beer that has such a huge socioeconomic impact?
