I agree, but I thought "The Thing" was a pretty cool movie. I've been wanting to see that one again.

Definately second smoky and the bandit. But it did have a negitive impact on my driving record ever since. How come he never got caught?:)

Key Largo: Boggy, Bacal, and Edward G. ... what a cast. What a great scene when "Jonny Rocco" is getting a shave.

Anything with John Wayne.

White Heat: James Cagney ... that guy was great.

The Godfather I and II

The Taxi Driver

A Clockwork Orange

Apocalypse Now

Public Enemy

Scarface

I'm 25 so these are somewhat old to me.

GENTLE PERSUASION --- GARY COOPER

RED BADGE OF COURAGE-- AUDIE MURPHY

SAHARA -- HUMPHRIE BOGART

HOW THE WEST WAS WON -- LOTS OF GOOD ACTORS

I'm with Fireman Dave and Andy - those old muscle car/ suspense car movies are awesome! Vanishing Point, where they actually wrecked a Camaro in the end instead of that 440 6pack Challenger... ;)

I second the motion of anything with Jack Nicholson, also Paul Newman, or Toshiro Mofuni (sp? )...

Alien and The Thing, don't forget the original Jaws.

Have to add: "Shawshank Redemption" and "Harold and Maude" (a great twisted romance).

Oh yeah, and all Clint Eastwood westerns.

has anybody mentioned 2 lane blacktop?

I did. That's a great one. That '55 Chevy is the same one that Harrison Ford drove in American Graffitti. I liked that car better in 2 Lane Blacktop - pure muscle with no fluff. :D I also like the drive-in scene at the beginning where they're checking out all the local iron and commenting on them - James Taylor: "That Hemi had a Torqueflight". :D

My cousin had a Trans-Am from that era complete with a BAN-ONE personalized plate. We used to practice high speed broadies on the highway by his house. Yeah, we were dumb kids but it sure was fun!

Speaking of Burt Reynolds any one seen White Lightning? Great flick!
