Tire Pressures?

Timbrens=good customer service

I was kinda curious as to what others have towed and what GVW was, This weekend I towed a rented shooting boom forklift for my buddie on a tandem axle duelly trailer and the GVW was 36,620# :eek: It was only a 40 mile haul but it was a job and a half, the truck performed flawlessly and I was proud of how well it did, the trailer had most of the weight as I pulled the shooter on the trailer till the overloads touched. I was glad I had an exhaust brake for this one, I ran at 60 mph and in 5th gear as to be as easy on the truck as possible.

cheers, Kevin

big load

Last weekend I hauled a 50 ft mobile home about 7 miles. Supposedly it weighed over 22,000 lbs. I normally pull a 14,000 lb 5th wheel, but this thing made the truck squat quite a bit more. Moveing it didn't seem to be a problem though. The only real hard / scarey part was the trailer had not been moved for about 7 yrs and the tires on the mobile home were BAD NEWS! We made it, however.

A guy at my gym that I talked into buy a 3500QC 4x4 its an automatic SO. Pulled in the gym about a month ago towing a Cat D-5 on a trailer that weighed 5K lbs. I would say that totaled around 23K lbs. Not bad for a truck rated to tow around 11K lbs. He told me he almost got stuck on a back road when he came around a corner and was faced with a very steep hill. He said he just threw it into 4wd low and was spinning all six tires going up the hill (but he made it) This is a stock truck no bombs. These trucks are amazing :D

heavist I pulled/carried so far... ... 3 yards of wet top soil in the bed and a kubota l4310 on a tamdem axle trailer.

3yrds*2500 = 7500

tractor = 4600

trailer = 2500

14,600 total on stock truck.

I pulled a 40FT triple axle flatbed trailer to Phoenix to pick up a 64 Imperial and a 77 New Yorker. I never scaled but I guessed it somewhere around 28,000 GVW:eek: the truck was still stock at the time except for a disabled waste gate and the stacks, it took us 6 hours to go from Phoenix to Vegas though, and about 12 hours from Vegas to Green River WY (home). We left here about 6 pm Friday and got back about 8 am Monday including watching the Nascar race on SundayOo. :cool: Then I had to go to work all day:{

I put 19,860 lbs of alfalfa hay on my 30 dual tandem trailer. It weighs 7700 lbs. 27,560 behind the rig. 65 mph down the hwy with the DTT auto. Never missed a beat. Now I have the 2003 and just pulled the backhoe and I bet it weighs in at 24,000 on the trailer. New truck pulls it at 75 mph like it is nothing.

This doesn't QUITE count since I did this with the F-250 (did this BC) but I pulled a Class 8 tractor and a empty 50' pot ( rig weighs just under 32K). The turbo snapped the shaft and grenaded the compressor wheel. Didn't go very far, but the truck did surprisingly well, just pulled it with a chain.

Okay, spill your guts, what did that one cost you?

I hauled a CAT 3412 Gen set, complete skided package on my gooseneck. It flattened the tires with 95 psi in them :eek:

Hauled a big MM tractor with full calcium in the tires and wheel weights and bush hog from NW Missouri to East Tenn, 26k gross, double OD with the gear vendors at 70 mph all the way, only dropped 1 gear (5th direct) on one grade in Tenn :D

i had my newf, choc lab, a full tank of fuel, the wife, me. . i think i'm overloaded, according to dc specs. i guess the 5ver will have to wait until dodge builds a real truck... . :D

The first day that I bought my 1st 01 turck, I bought a bicycle for my daughter and took it to her. Don't laugh, it was on a bike rack on the hitch receiver, which puts a lot more leverage on the truck.

I towed a ford L9000 with a L10 and 53' box loaded to about 90,000 pounds. he was stuck in the mud at the end of my driveway. I only moved him 30' back to the gravel, but if you add my 6500 lbs, that put it to 96,500 pounds

Got away with it completely. He told me that it was on him this time because I was only 1 mile away from crossing the state line. I would be paying from now on though.

Ahh, your lucky day.

One of my buddies got pinched the other day with a load of hay on his truck and trailer. He only had the trailer tagged for 10k. Overall, he was legal but to much on the trailer cost him 850 bucks. I was kidding him about paying attention to me when I warned him about this awhile back.

01 couldn get it done

Last weekend I was a pulling a 29 ft larson boat with twins. Best estimate on GCVW was 20830. Truck has DTT 89% auto trans and EZ comp full 4" exhaust. Pulling a long hill (Parleys Canyon in Utah) 6% grade, temp 99 degrees. Truck speed dropped of to 20 mph then overheated. The engine coded and went into reduced power mode. Just barely got to the top. Disappointed. From some of the replys here I should have been ok. Any thoughts. Trailer is being inspected today. Truck checks out by stealer.

something is not right!

I pulled local 6% grade grossing 18,000+ and crested at 60 mph, starting from stop sign at the bottom. Are there serious corners that require you to back out of the throttle?? 16% I could believe, but I think something must be wrong if 6% pulled you down that far.

:--) I tow a 1993 and 1/2, 40ft Royals International Fifth Wheel Homestead Edition. Truck and trailer 25230. That bad boy Dodge will haul that trailer at 75mph all day long with the A/C blowin and Merle Haggard on the box. I don't
