How much oil does your truck use between changes?

I truly love my old 93, but my next one is a 94-97 2wd for CHEAP. If it takes ten years to find, I'm driving a great truck til then. How bout the rest of you guys- whats your next truck in the next five years,, assuming approximate current financial condition?

I plan on driving what I have for the next 5 years, current economic conditions or if I win the lottery. :D That is unless I come across a really sweet deal on a 4x4.

I wouldnt mind having an extended cab Dodge 73-93 4wd long bed. 3 regular cab pickups at the moment. I'd go for a 85 crew cab 4wd Dodge good condition. No 2nd gens, don't care for the style. . Bill

I would love to have a 94-98 extended cab 4x4, but in no way shape or form would I ever get rid of my first gen. She has treated me very well over the years. I hope we don't get whacked with the pastors stick for saying stuff like this. Does he still have the resources to give hp penalties?

Current finances won't allow a different truck, and probably won't change without the lucky Powerball numbers, so I've been slowly making improvements to mine with the idea that I'll have it for a long time.

If a ton of money wasn't an issue I'd love to have a 3rd Gen 4x4 2500 or 3500. If less money wasn't an object, a 96-early '98 2nd Gen 4X4.

I like the looks of the 1st Gen trucks better, but like the "improvements" of 2nd Gen. :p

being that I already have 5 trucks and do not own any land, I try not to think about getting more trucks. As my collection shows, i am not doing a very good job at it. :)

Like bgilbert i'd like an 80's crew cab and first gen cummins conversion. Of course it would be a conversion I would do my self. Dont like second gens, like the third gens but can't give up my first gen trucks.

The only reason for a crew cab is can't haul the family of four with standard cab truck. Can't pull the goosneck with the durango either. Crewcab would get better milage then the durango too. :D

I'm looking for an 85 VW crew cab style body. I'd like to put it on my 92 dodge frame and switch to an automatic transmission. I've got an 85 Vanagon but I want to hold out for the pickup. I can only imagine the weird looks I would get in a 4wd twin turbo cummins powered VW pulling a loaded gooseneck up Altamont pass at about 70 mph.

Next truck I get will probably in a couple years or so. I'd like to get a 3rd Gen regular cab, long box with a HO/6spd.

I don't plan on replacing mine unless someone pulls out in front of me or nails me in a side.

I do not like the seats in the 2nd and 3rd gens. 60/40 split seats. "yuck" give me the older buckets with a true console not one of those little junk collectors the new trucks have.

Mine only has 150k on it. I can rebuild in a few more times. I am doing body work on it now.

My next pickup is going to be a White and silver '93 W350 CC 5spd with 4. 10s and an aluminum flatbed. The one I had 3 years ago is going up for sale soon, and I told the guy I WANT IT: CALL ME THE MINUTE YOU DECIDE TO SELL IT!! I should have half of the $8000 for it by July. Give him my 91 for the other half :-laf; if ONLY he'd go for that.....

If I dont get that one, a 96-98 12v 4x4 RC dually with a 5 speed (913 pump- yeee-haawww). No family, and I've grown used to the maneuverability of the reg cabs, plus 1-2 better MPGs; at $2/ gal, I'l take all I can get.

Next truck is going to be a 97/2500/LB/EC/Laramie/green.

Might get one this fall. Gettin' kinda tired of my truck.

If anyone is interesting in purchasing a 93 250 with a flatbed, 450hp EDM's, Con O, 4" exhaust, and everything that is currently in my sig... let me know.

But nothing is set in stone...

another truck?

Haven't even thought about it, well I guess I have, I looked around and said to myself "nothing better than what I have for what I want to do" :D Especially when you look at the price, BTW I'm cheap, I can put an incredible about of money in mine and still be way ahead of the game in my mind. A 2K transmission job is what, about 3 months new truck payments, the stock one has gone 11 years now... ...

Been telling myself this one will see at least 500K, maybe by then something will come out that intrests me, but by the look of what has been coming out, I am not going to hold my breath.

Now if I can get the fiancee interested in a Chrysler 300 when the S10 needs replaced in a couple years.

next truck

ummmm. Did I mention 1stgen4evr is my handle. Actually I already have my next truck and the next and the next and the next.

I own four factory CTDs and have a crew project and ramcharger project in the works. I don't ever plan to not have a first gen.

A blue and silver 93 extended cab dually has paid off my house and bought the other toys I listed. It just carried me to Vancouver Island from Georgia and back without so much as a hiccup. 419k factory original with only bearing preload reseting and one syncro in the getrag. Lots of other little stuff but how could I abandone so faithful a steed. Time for new paint, new seat and a few other upgrades but not a trade. I might give it to my son if I though he would treat it nice.

Lets see, if I live another sixty years I might have to trade for something else. Probably won't be burning diesel by then.

1stgen4evr

In addition to

1963 Autocar with NTC 290 Cummins, 10 speed E-F, and air ride rears. Oo. Oo. That will be to take most of the load off the W-350. I am working on a hay contract to supply 8,000 small square bales 100 miles away. Probably keep both 1st gens around because they are paid for and still have a lot of work left in them, or is that on them:confused:

I love this truck and am going to hate to sell it but I have to come this summer as my family and I are moving oversea's, and this thing would just be too big for most locations. I am thinking diesel landcruiser, maybe a BJ40 or something, maybe a diesel landrover... . but my experience with Brit cars is that they have great designs but poor implementation... .

Rgt, I had my '89 Rag. Cab in Germany for five years and didn't have any problems..... well ok there was that alley I almost got stuck  and the other time I had to detour around certain alleys:rolleyes:. If a S-class Benz and a Land Rover will fit you will.

Tom

I DO love my first gen... . but my next truck will likely be a 94-98 2wd CTD with an auto trans.

Will keep this one at least another year, probably 2.

Jay

Well, my collection is growing. Next vehicle is now being loaded on railcar in Saltillo for delivery, 600 QC 3500 SRW LWB SLT 6spd, in patriot blue. Oo.

Keeping the 92, waiting for the transmission to go next, then convert it to either a NV4500 or 5600. :D
