whats your opinion on 35/40 twin turbo?

I’m currently switching all of my performance parts form my 98 24v to a 99 with a lot less miles

My question is when I had my 98 I had a edge drag comp, mach 2, afe pro guard7, and 4-inch straight piped gauges clutch and all the other necessary parts I had a PDR hx40 on the 98 and I cant decide if I should put it on my 99 I loved the hx40 on the top end but it took a long time to spool I live at 7200 feet. Where I love the hx40 I hated the stock hx35 and where I loved the hx35 I hate the hx40 although my peak egt is much less with the hx40 I run about 200-300 degrees hotter with the hx40 than the hx35 when just cruising down the road. Do you think it possible to build a set of twins with the hx40 and the stock hx35and have the best of both worlds?

no the 40 is to small i would probably shoot for a piers modified ht3b and a 23 housing that would probably be closer to your needs. but that would just be my guess. right about now would be a good time for jim fulmer to give his opinion hint hint he had that setup and i belive he said he was over 700 hp with it  so it does have some potential

Someone on here built a twin setup using a 35 and a 40 a few years back. He said he was very happy with it for what he was trying to accomplish.

Sorry, can't remember who it was.

when you say the 40 would be to small do you mean i would be over spooling the 40 why will it work as a single but not in a twin setup

Dan, I belive that might be Scott AKA BBD

im not much of a twin expert, but i built a set of twins and used to small of a bottom and after about 38# boost it would just start superheating the air and would not speed up anymore even though it was making 52# of bost the drive pressures were way off, it seemed as if the truck would go from a rocket to falling on its face. jim fulmer helped me and explained it very well, if it was my truck you could probably sell the 40 and cover most all the cost of the 3b and then its just piping i have never talked to someone who didnt like thier 35/ht3b setup but then again theres a lot more people on here that are nothing short of brilliant when it comes to these trucks so id listen to what some of thoes other guys have to say before my idea was set in stone.
