In Manchester New Hampshire, a court ruled that the divorced parents of a college student HAVE to pay for her tuition. Married parents are subject to no such action, but divorced ones are? I think that's kind of silly in my opinion. My parents didn't pay for a dime, not a penny of my college education. How can a court force someone to pay for someone elses education?



They stipulate that the divorced ruined her life and she is doomed to be poor and that paying for her college gives her a better chance. I still say work for your own future, don't mooch off mommy and daddy.



So what's your take?

I think it's rediculous. Not only should there not be a difference between divorced and married parents, but there's also a bigger issue here with society:



"Children of divorced parents are less likely to go to college, less likely to go to prestigious schools, and generally are less economically successful than their parents," she said. "As a matter of public policy, we have to decide if that's what we want. "



WHAT?! I thought each person was supposed to go make their own life. If they're happy making less than their parents, so be it. But, as a matter of public policy, we're going to DECIDE if that's what we want? Jeez.

Oh, BS... My parents are still married, 40+ years (I'm 36), I served in the US Army and used my GI Bill as well as part time jobs to get through college. And I didn't go to some prestigious Ivy League school, either. I attended a state university. But we're forgetting here, according to Billary Klinton, parents should have no responsibility at all for raising their children, it's society's responsibility (the "village"). Oh well...

It's another case of the courts over stepping their boundaries again. Who are they to say how to raise a child, where is liberty then? Stuff like this is ground work for a NWO (clinton's new world order) Frightening stuff

There was a case a short while back where a mother wanted to move from her home (I believe it was in Pittsburgh) and relocate with her child(ren) to another state. Her husband had passed away some short time ago. The grandparents filed a suit and the court tried to prevent her from moving. Wait a minute, isn't that her decision, and her right to move. Last I checked, we can move anywhere we please. That is overstepping the boundaries, big time. Some of us can still think for ourselves. We don't need the court to tell us we can tie our shoes now.

It's truly reprehensible that there are so many Americans out to prove to the rest of the world that we ARE, in fact, the pretentious, shallow, self-centered egotistical, lazy crybabies that the world thinks we are.



The sadder part is that 90% of Americans are good hardworking people who don't go for all this BS. But the media reports on the 10% that is an embarassment to us all.



If all the rest of the country was like the TDR membership, America would be a better, if much smoggier place
