Wheel backspace Question

Hey, I'm looking at fancy wheels and I would like to match, or get very close to the stock backspace. Anyone know what the stock backspace is?

It's about 6. 25 inches if I remember right. There aren't many wheels out there that have this kind of backspacing. Let us know what you find.

Stock offset on the third gen's is +40 mm (~1. 6"). To determine backspacing you divide the wheel width by 2 and add the offset.

Eagle alloy 114 18x9. 5 has a 6 inch back space and a +22 offset. I just put them on my truck. Without the fender flares they stick out a little, with the flares they fit good.

Any pics of your truck? What size tires did you use?

My son has those on his 03 with 35" coopers. I think it needs flares but the hip look is rubber showing.

the back spacing is exactly 6" and center line wheel company has a great selection of wheels.

that picture brings up a good point I have beent hinking abuot for a while, and I have only seen this here. its not that relevanto to the post but Ive been wondering about it.

backspacing is obvious, hub to back side of wheel.

off set as far as Iknew was the distance from the center ot the whel to the hub face of the wheel + or-. so in theory that 9. 5 inch wheel with a +22 offset should actually have a backspacing of 5. 616. I dont understand how you can have a different offset and the same backspacing on the same width rim. it doesnt make sense. well to me, some one please tell me if I am wrong

I did the math on that one time also. It didn't come up as being accurate like you said. The only thing I can think of is that the manufacturer rounds up or down somehow, but they use decimals that would indicate careful measurement.



I don't think this matters, but I think the actual measurement of the width of the wheel is the inside surface of the rim where the tire seats against.

No pics yet. The tires are Toyo Open country A/T 325/65/18. (35x13) They are wide and alot taller than stock. They fit good with the eagle wheels, maybe about an inch sticking out of the fender W/O flares, almost flush with them. I am real happy with the setup.

I love my Eagle Alloys 20x10 series 114 with Nitto Terras 325/60/20, i have a 4. 5" suspension lift and rub the front corner of the inner fender but I get allkinds of compliements with Eagle Alloys and didnt have to seel a limb to get them like Welds,etc

#rd gen wheels

I was curious if anyone has put 3rd gen wheels on a 1st gen truck. My brother is thinking about doing it and I'm not sure if they will work. Thanks for any info.

I researched that some time ago for a friend over in the 1st gen section and found that while it can be done it takes special adapters to move the wheels out. The deep backspace of the 3rd gen wheel makes it rub.
