i am thinking of pulling out the wheel well liners and maybe painting them black again they are starting to look a little nasty. so do you think it is worth saving the money and trying to paint them or just buy new ones? how hard is it for removal and install? do i need a special tool? any part #'s for the rivets? do i need a special rivet gun?

thanks in advance -- drew

WHEN I wash mine (no comment from those who have seen it lately:D ) I just wash the liners real good and get in there with some "Black Gold", ArmourAll or some other similar product. They still have the original colour, just needing a lil' touch up refresher.

EDIT: If you are going to go the paint route, why not just mask every thing real well then paint the liners without removal.

Liner removal

The fasteners can be a pain to remove. Forget about reusing them. I had to drill out the middle of some of them before they would come out. I bought some "Push Fasteners Variable Depth (GM)" at Lowes or Home Depot (can't remember which) #793594 instead of the original "rivets". The brand is Pik-A-Nut. No special tool needed -- just push them in.

I don't think paint would hold up very well with all the road debris being hurled at it.

maybe i will just get new liners thanks for the imput. p. s. i have like white marks almost like when you bend plastic and it turns white i hate the way it looks thats the main reason for all this trouble

What about getting some Rhino or Line-X. I have the Rhino in my bed & it is great stuff. Only I don't think they can spray the Rhino "up". I do belive they can the Line-X!

I've notices some chipping/rust on the the very edge of the wheel wells (where the lines stops) and was thinking of maybe having someone Line-X it for me???
