I'm not sure we're all talking the same thing about Chevy interiors... a friend just bought a new 2021 3500 CC 4x4 LB Diesel high end and it's nice. I can't speak to a Chevy work truck interior, but my friend's was really nice.

All I can say is the 2020 3500 Denali... (top model) was not very good and a big step down IMHO from the 2018 I had drove last time I looked..

I had a great experience buying through Dave Smith in 2014, but this last summer I tried getting some information out of them via email (like I did the first time) and they dodged me and wanted to have a sales guy call me which I was not interested in. Then my buddy almost bought a truck there, but it turned out they didn't even have what he was told about. Then he found a used one there and asked about the CP3 vs CP4, I think he was looking at a 2019 and the sales guy tried to tell him they "changed it to a CP3". Uh huh. Sure. Anyway, he finally bailed on that deal.
Next one I buy will be through the Lithia dealership in Eugene, OR. They have a reputation for great price and good customer service on Internet sales. Will see. Probably another year or two for me. My experience with their service department this Spring was stellar. They just knocked it out of the park when we showed up with a blown engine.

Dave Smith has definitely changed, and not for the better! Tried to get a price on a truck because it was "too low to show" on their website. Didn't hear from them for 4 days and then the said they don't give pricing over email and that I needed to talk with someone. On top of that, the email replies looked like they were written by a junior high drop out.

That has been my experience twice with Dave Smith.

I've bought my last 2 trucks from DS, but i never asked for a price quote via email, I called and spoke to a salesman. I personally won't buy vehicles anywhere else.

When I bought my 2017 I got it through Dave Smith. It could not have gone better. The price beat anyone local by $5K. It ended up being 18% under msrp. Communication was awesome. I flew up to Spokane, they picked me up, drove me to the dealership in Kellog and everything was ready to go. I was out of there within an hour of my arrival happy as a clam. However when I started looking for a 21 or ordering a 22 earlier this year it was a different experience. Little stock which I don't blame them for that. The pricing was not very good which I don't blame them much for that either considering the state of auto industry at the moment. What did irritate me was the lack of communication. Days to respond to emails or phone calls. They said they were very busy and they may have been swamped with emails and phone calls don't know. In the end they could not do much for me or at least I wasn't willing to participate as the pricing was not good they pretty much wanted full MSRP.

I also tried Dennis Dillon outside of Boise same thing communication was terrible. However I did strike a deal on ordering a 22 with them but once I got the paperwork there were a couple of things I did not care for (that were not brought up during the negotiation) and I did not follow through with them in the end. First was a $3k nonrefundable deposit (it was the nonrefundable part that was not brought up). About the only way out was if the vehicle came in damaged. Secondly was a required dealer addon. It was a $700 flasher for the third brake light called their safety package. They would not sell it without. I didn't want it, I didn't want them to put it in, I didn't want them to put it in then take it out. I even asked charge me for it just don't put it in, no go. I get it extra dealer profit etc but it just seemed very excessive for what it was and the fact it wasn't brought up I had to find it in the paperwork. The last thing was part of the price savings was a $2000 financing rebate through Chrysler, they could not give me an interest rate but thought it would be somewhere around 5%, a bit steep. More importantly they would only let you put 10k down whether cash or trade. If you traded and it was worth more than 10k they would send you a check later and you had to keep the loan for at least 6 months for the $2k rebate. All fine and dandy I suppose just too much bs for me. The price was good enough that from a financial perspective the $700 addon was not that big deal, the 2k financing rebate rules, the extra interest on it etc just didnt sit well with me all that stuff just kept nibbling away at the cost savings to the point it wasn't that great of deal.

I found communication to be lacking from all the dealers I contacted (and there were many) either very slow responses or none at all via email or phone calls. I had resigned myself to not wory about it anymore and jsut wiat another year or so until the auto industry was back to normal. Then within a day or two of me deciding that I received an email from a dealer literally right down the street from me that stated 10% off all new ordered vehicles. I had contacted them previously via email about pricing on a particular vehicle that came back at full msrp and had checked them off my list. I have never used them even though they are only about 1 mile away as their pricing had always been too much for me but thought I would check. Anyway with the reception of their email I contacted them, set up an appointment and had a deal within 30 minutes of walking in. Now trying to be patient while waiting for it to show up. Supposed to ship later this week. We shall see. Shipping has been delayed twice already.

I had the 68 in my 11 HO DRW for 65k and towed a combined 29k with no issue. I did run the HE!! out of it when I pulled out of Dave Smith all the way home per Service Manager.
I had a great buying experience in late '06 when I ordered my '07 from them. Everything aside from the guy who wanted to sell me a service agreement.
