Born on date

October 25, 2000 at 2:00 P. M. Screaming and kicking she was!

I baptized her on Feb. 8, 2001 at 10:00 A. M. I started it ( -3F, no problem ), went to scrape the windows and the doors locked on me, seriously! I had to break in the rear sliding window with a hammer just to get in, before I ever drove it! Then noticed that big pull right!

Ever since then I've been really close to her and a long and happy relationship is in our future.

birthday

6/12/01 @ high noon! in Saltillo Mexico ( is this good or bad, havent seen one on here yet from there, no wonder the horn plays the mexican hat dance song!) Pulled her/him into my garage less then a month later on 7/8/01 no problems or complaints ( other than the usual, pulls to left, lift pump on the way out at 22k)

cool idea for a thread!

Not bad.......

The 01 was born 1/26/00 which it turns out was a Wednesday. Hopefully the line workers were sober by then. St. Louis build and for the fourth time I've crawled under the truck and can't find a 50 series number so I'm happy.

The 02 was born 8/11/01 which was a Saturday. Mexican build so now I'm worried if Saturdays are worse than Friday's and Monday's as far as builds go. Maybe they were happy to get overtime. The good news is this block has no 50 series number either.

born on date?

How about this one - tag on the side of the VP44 says motor was built 6/30/00. Now I go to the door tag for the born on date for the truck and it says 061416 or June 14 at 4 PM, a whole 16 days before the motor was hatched???

Truck built in the good old USA in Missouri and absolutely no sign of any 50 something on either side of the block!!:D

My Bright White American beauty wuz built to my ordered specs, began to rattle that oh so sweet rhythm 061518 1999 St Louis (North)... ... . oh soooooo sweeeeeeet she be to this day!!:D

Rattle on!

When did the 03 line begin production? Seems like any earlier and I'd have a 2nd gen in my garage. :D

The other truck was born in 9/93.

Here I am again with the first year model of a new generation. I thought I told myself I'd never do that again.

My 2nd generation was made 6/12/02 at the Lago plant. Looks like I got one of the last at a plant that was shut down within a couple of months of my build and you got one of the 1st on a new assembly line. Now does it look so far? Mine is perfect, even better than my 2000 was :D

I think it looks very good. The weather keeps me from looking too hard though. When I went to pick it up for the first time, the dealer had it out in their lot. (single digit temps and blowing wind) I had them bring it into their service area so I could at least give it a decent look over. Had to tell them to remove the snow. (was a level full load)

Of course after their assurances that the axles were checked, I checked the rear this AM and found it low. I went in and had it filled up (less than a quart)
