Doesn't much matter anyway. My brother is going to wait out his Duramax order. He says the Dodge is just too noisy for a doctor who has to crank it up at all hours of the night and morning and lives in an apartment. If I were his neighbor, I'd see his point!:D

I have never delt with purchasing a truck from one dealer and then having it delivered to another, but I have a question. What happens if when you pick up your new truck and discover a problem with it. Like for instance an ordered option is missing or there's a scratch or some sort of damage. Who do you take this up with?? I can't imagine the dealer the truck was delivered to being very cooperative since they missed out on the sale.

truck damage

The dealer bills D-C for the repair. The vehicles are supposed to be inspected and damage reported to the shipping company. If they miss it, it is up to D-C to fix. Dealers don't mind fixing them, as they make money for fixing it. You are just out the time the truck is fixed. Customers just don't like to hear that something had to be fixed on thier brand new truck that has not hit the road yet.

good deals

The dealer I bought mine from was selling the 2001s quite cheap. 01 2500 4x4 quad shortbox diesel SLT loaded for $27742. Great price, but definitely hurts the resale value of mine. :(

I can recommend Dave Smith in Kellog Idaho. Not sure if he's the absolute lowest price but he'll quote you a price right down to the penny and that's it, that's how much you owe. No haggling, bartering, begging, none of that back and forth crap that the dealers in my hometown do. I think I paid about $31,500. for mine including some stuff from their aftermarket shop, rubber bed mat, black steps, mud flaps, rocker panels, and tinted windows.

Good luck!

I can also recomend Dave Smith in Kellogg Id. We have purchased 2 vehicles from them and both times they treated us far better than my expection. Like it has been said before there was no bs. There were no weasels in sight. (unlike every other car dealer that I have been to) On our second vehicle we gave our local dealer another chance because they are active in the community and they were "showing" invoice. They had not changed. I should not have even given them a chance. Went back to Dave Smith again. Was given an excellent deal and first class treatment :D. I would give them a call first for a price check before buying from anyone else. Only bad thing I can think of is that they also sell GM products. :(

I did the Dave Smith thing back in 97. It was totally hassle free. And the best part?----I got to drive my new truck all day back home!
