Hey I go to sled pulls out of state. sometimes I travel 500 miles away just to pull and see my buddies. I don't have a tow rig so I am using my competition vehicle on the highways to the pull. This year I will be adding lots of power but want to have a little more insurance and make some gains on the track by modifying a stock AAM 11. 5 to a be swapped the night or morning before a pull at the track to use for race purposes only. This will be part of my race setup that will not ever see highway use. It will be modified for to free up some RWHP.

I was wondering if you knew the best place to buy an AAM axle assembly and about how much I would be spending. I have not checked with local salvage yards but I fear the price of the them. They simply go buy how much a new one costs and deduct a few pennies off their price. But for their price I may as well go to the dealer and buy just the pieces I want to put a rear end together with the pieces I need. I know I always could go down to the down dealer in town and steal a rearend out of the remaining 2006 R3500 DRW inventory in about 8 minutes by myself, but I would rather be on the right terms with God. If you know of a place in Maryland, virginia, deleware, new jersey that would have a cheap 2003-2006 (maybe 2007 if the same) AAM 11. 5 for a DRW truck please post. I am willing to travel to find a good deal ands maybe buy somemore off the truck if I see something I want.

Please post name of the business or person, city and state, and if you can the telephone number.
