Any artists out there???

Why NOT to park near a Fire Hydrant

Another factoid.

On a balance scale (with weights) you'd weigh the same on the equator as the north pole. On a spring scale (bathroom type) you'd weigh less at the equator than the north pole.

I believe you are incorrect. When the earths shadow is on the moon, we have an eclipse. You are correct that the moon dos not rotate, but it revolves around the earth and different sides are presented to us. We can not see one side because it is not illuminated by the sun.

You are right about the eclipse, the phases of the moon are from the moon's relation to the sun. One half of the moon is always illuminated ( there is no darkside) unless it's in earth's shadow, the phases we see are because we never see the backside of the moon which is sometimes illuminated since the same side always faces earth, i. e. at a new moon the never seen backside is fully illuminated, at a full moon it's dark. I am positive the backside of the moon was never seen nor mapped until Apollo. Some even thought beforehand that there may be alien bases hidden on the backside. This is all hard to explain with words, easy with pictures.

It's true with enough trucks lined up north to south headed west we could slow down the earths rotation, wouldn't even need to burn rubber. With modern precision time measurement it has been determined that high winds blowing across the Himalayas can actually slow and speed the earth's rotation. The theory is that once the rotation stops it will never restart, one side will always face the sun just as the moon faces earth. Mercury does that now. One side of earth will cook, the other will freeze. The earth's rotation has been always been slowing, scientists figure the rotation was once every 10 hours just a billion years ago. I'm not sure though, I have a hard time remembering yesterday or even the beginning of this paragraph.

So how do we know how to prepare for this? Is there a way to know if I'll be on the cold side of the hot side when it stops? I'd like to make some kind of preparations.

I don't want to start an argument, but how did it get spinning in the first place?

Ken, I propose we get an engineer, maybe NVRfinish, to figure out when to put on the brakes after the truck lineup. Don't know which side would be better though, minus 300 vs. plus 200°.

By that time the polution and greenhouse effect will probably have brought the entire planet temp up to 150 degrees anyway. (No, I'm not a tree hugger).

Doc, some guy up North Jersey give out gravity boots, then take their new owners swimming. :-laf :-laf

You dont want them.

Oh BTW their only made of cement, nothing special.
