Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Where can I find a stock turbo?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where to get a stock turbo or and equivelant aftermarket turbo? Mine is starting to pass oil and I like the behaivor of the stock turbo more than the bd so i would like a similar turbo.

Re-Build It

There are plenty of Re-build kits available if you feel up to it.

I got one from G-POP Shop online with all of the pieces you'll need.

I went to HOLSETS website and downloaded all the information needed to rebuild it.

I spent about $100 for everything, it works like new.

I have a BD super b turbo right now that is passing oil and I really want to replace it with the stock one or a turbo that is similar. I dont care for the bd turbo.

Is the stock turbo on a 98. 5-2002 a hx35?

The manuals had the hx35 while the autos had the hy35... Jeff

My auto 2000 has a HX35. I do believe the 2001 also had the HX35. The 2002 autos have the HY35, I think the Exhaust housing are larger than 9CM. Moose

My 2001. 5 auto (Rear Disc Brakes) came with a HY35. SNOKING

You can find one in my garage, about 130k on it. Worked perfectly when I took it off to drop some bombs. PM me and we can discuss in more detail if you wish.

Sorry, my mistake, the late 2000 to the 2002 autos had the HY35 with the small exh. housing.

The stock turbo on my 99 was an HX35W - I'm sure the "W" means waste-gated.

I'd assume a 98. 5 being a 24v and the slightly older brother to the 99 the turbos would be the same for the auto trans trucks.
