j. c. whitne. i installed them on my 94. $32. 99 complete kit even a switch,i hooked them in to my parking lights. looks good.

Hey VHolloway,

Do you need a replacement lens, or are you installing cab lights on a truck that didn't have them from the factory?

This may be a little late if you've already got your lights, but Cabellas and J. C. Whitney both sell the Pacer brand of cab roof lights that has a kit to match the O. E. styles. I like the later 2nd Gen style better, so I put those on my '98, but they sell 94-99 style as well.

If your truck didn't come with the clearance lights, here's a link to thread where I posted some info on my install: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146199

My post is #14 down the thread.

Good luck with your project!

ctd12v I am in need of just the lens for my 3rd gen. Any idea where I can come up with alll five of 'em?? I have some cracking issues... . TIA

Jim

Unfortunately you'll probably have to go to the dealer for that. I haven't seen the 3rd Gen style lights in any aftermarket kits. It seems when I was searching old threads for clearance light info, there was some posts talking about the cracking issue--seems like the fore and aft positions of the screws were putting more stress on the lens as opposed to the side by side position of the older style. If you can find them they might have some useful info. Good luck,

Have been looking for some slick replacement cab lights and found Putco brand, p/n 900556,920556 or 930556, depending on color. Several online sites have them. Has anyone used these and are they as advetised?

There are always sets of cab roof lights for our trucks on ebay. They even have the smoke-colored ones if you like that stuff.

I bought what I thought was a dead-ringer high-output L. E. D. roof light from the local big truck parts store (Midwest Wheel). I want to cut down as much as possible on the load placed on my dodge-designed-it headlight switch which has already melted down twice with no load other than the factory lights on it. I think going L. E. D. everywhere possible might do the trick.

The light I bought is exactly the same in looks, but the mounting holes are about 1/8 to 1/4 inch different. I can redrill one hole and make that work, I think, but the old holes are almost too close to drill next to.

Where to find cab lights?

On most of the trucks that I have seen, they are on the roof.

Aw, comon now, somebody had to say it! Might as well be me today!

I just put a set of Recon smoked 3rd gens. on my second gen. They look awesome. Unfortunately the putz that had the truck before me did a real hack job installing the old lights. They weren't even for a dodge, they were Pacer's lights for the older style chevy's. They didn't look bad, but all the lenses were cracked. It would have been real simple for the guy to pull the headliner and drill the holes for the wires thru the holes in the roof brace like they do from factory, but he must have had a pattern that he used and did it from up top. Made running my wires to the new onces a real pain, and then the supplied screws were to long, they would hit the roof brace before they got tight. Had to drill holes to clear the screws.
