I have been searching all over looking for these Michelin XL tires and haven't had much luck. I need them in either size 9. 0R16 or 11. 0R16. The only place I could find them was Dollar Tire in Canada and they have tons of them but the freight charge is gonna probably cost as much as a set or 6 of them. If anyone can help me out locating a set of these new or used with at least 60% tread life left, please post. :D Oo.

Thanks, Joe

Joe, Being in California, Discount Tire can special order them for you. Earthroamer ordered his Michelins and Alcoa wheels from them. You can also try USA 6x6.com. -Glen

Well, I gave about 3 Discount tire co. a call and they said they could not get them. They called Michelin and they said they were not available for some reason that was not given. Probably that darn war over in Iraq is causing this since they are a military tire pretty much.

Glen, do you know which Discount tire co. Earthroamer called? Maybe I will just PM him.

Weren't these tires only rated to 65mph or something like that?

Yes, but on military trucks. My buddy has the 11. 00x16's on his '96 Cummins dually 4x4 and they ride great. He has had that truck up to 80mph cruiding speed. The tires is built for the military trucks, not a light weighted dually. They will be fine.

JBlackwell, could you ask your buddy where he got his? I found a couple of places and one place almost had them new but Michelin called them back and said they are only available to the military right now until the war is over. The only place I could find that size in the states is Boyce Equipment parts in Utah. Hopefully, he will come through as he has only found 4 good ones. We'll see, but if you have any info on where to find them elsewhere please post.

Thanks, Joe

Well, he bought the truck already lifted with the tires on it. BUT, Cumminfast that is on the boards here built the truck and bought the tires. I think he got them from a guy down in the Houston area, but not sure. You might want to P. M. him and see what he says.

Later,

JD

Sorry Joe, I'm not sure which Discount Tire Earthroamer ordered his from. Check Earthroamer's web-site. Boyce Equipment is probably a good bet. I forgot about them.

FWIW - Shipping on my set of TOYO M-55s from Canada to Mississippi, USA was $87. 00 for four tires (via UPS). Cheaper than the shipping from antoher tire dealer in California to my door. So I figure if shipping is much more than that then someone is making a profit off of shipping (aka handling). I did have to pay $76. 00 UPS import/broker fees though but the price from Canada was well worth the duty fees.

I bought a set of XL's off EBay a while back JGheen. I was searching for something to the effect of super swamper bogger, and was actually looking for my boggers that were stolen.

I got a set of 4, almost new, for under $1,000 shipped to my door. I havent used them yet though. The guy had a few sets of military tires, including a bunch of hummer H1 wheels that we ended up buying from him. I will see if I can find his EBay "handle" for you.

No biggie there pwerwagn, I just went ahead and got me some Boggers for wheelin'. They were going to be cheaper anyway and I think they are much more aggresive for what I am doing. Thanks anyway, man, but I think I will still just check out the E-bay deals if there are any left in that size of tire just for kicks.

I have 4 XML's sitting in the garage brand new that I got from John351c on pbb. Go to pirate4x4.com and go to the forums and then to the vendor showcase and find his username. Send him an email or pm and get a price. He has tons of them and great prices and it only cost me around $100 to ship them from where he is to here.

So did you end up going with the 38. 5/11/16's or 37x13. 50's? I had a set of the 37" boggers on my power wagon, they were awesome. I now run 39. 5" tsl's and they suck compard to the boggers.

I went with the 38x11x16 Boggers. Did you check out the post on this thread about "my new play time tires"? There are pics posted up of them on the truck.

The Michelins were just too hard to find and to expensive. I am gonna wait till we get our *****e$ out of Iraq(that probably won't be for another 4 years) then see what I can find since they are temporarily discontinued for civilian purchase until the war is over.
