What's the deal with failing lift pumps?

David,

I ended up getting a 4AN to a barb fitting from Dave D. I'll have to find some good rubber hose to remotely attach the sender.

I like how you used the standard banjo bolt and drilled/tapped 1/8" NPT fitting. This makes for a very easy install.

Who is Ray that is selling the modified banjo bolts?

Thanks,

Charles

Charles-

If you have a hose barb fitting, you can just use standard 1/4" fuel hose (I'm assuming that is the size of your barb). Most auto stores will sell it by the foot.

Dave,

I thought you had to use something exotic, but I guess it a non

issue since you're dealing with about 15 PSI max. Will diesel fuel damage a standard fuel hose? Thanks for the info. .

Standard fuel hose is fine. I would recommend the injection clamps rather than standard hose clamps as they can apply a little more pressure, but like you said, 15-psi isn't all that much. Just make sure that you allow enough slack for engine movement while assuring that it isn't going to rub on anything else. Good luck,

Charles,

If you have the fittings w/ a yellow plastic "collar" on it, you can use a "Push-Lok" style hose. No clamp required. I've never found an easy way to get the hose on the fitting, but I always heated the hose up w/ a heat gun and pounded the fitting into the hose. The set-up is rated for 250 PSI. Yes, it is over kill, but I've never seen it leak in other higher pres. applications.

Still no leaks w/ the -4an fitting on the test port. I will change it out with Ray's setup once he completes them. Saw . 5psi on the gauge last night. Backed off real quick. :( What we Cummins owners have to put up w/ to own this engine. Between this and the POS front end, what a PITA.
