Where can I get a Service Manual on a CD or download it?

Hi my diesel brothers,
I just bought a brand new 2015 Ram Ecodiesel 1500 4x4 Outdoorsman last week. I'm looking now to buy or download a copy of the service manual to learn all I can about my new toy.
Anybody find them for sale anywhere that's not in the hundreds? I bought a CD for my 2007 Mega Cab before as the books are now too expensive. I then just printed what I was working on. Thanks, Herb

Ramtrucks for owners manuals, techauthority.com for service manuals on cd. No paper manuals are available and Chrysler turned over maint and repair info to tech authority. Not cheap either.

Sense it comes as a PDF I'd think it's bootleg. They bought the cd and are selling the info. As much as I like a deal I refuse to help someone profit from stealing.

I just bought a CD from techauthority.com which is MOPAR. I PAID $134.00 AND $15.00 for two day shipping. Stupid type disk file system where you have to have Internet Explorer to read it. I like Google Chrome. Just saying.

I know what you mean. I'm in even worse shape. Ours is a MAC household, so I had to get a PC to be able to use the CD. Fortunately, my daughter is in IT, and had an old laptop that she cleaned up and installed new software and sent it to me. I use it exclusively for the Manual access and back-up for my vehicle files from my MAC.

I had CD service manuals for several of my older vehicles, also a parts manual for my 1992 CTD, that would operate on my MAC's, and was really happy with them. They were less expensive also.

I do like the CD format. They let you read the info you are looking for, then you can print the page(s) you might need to have handy in the shop while working on the vehicle.

I bought a CD for my first 2007 in 07 right after I bought the truck - something like $120 for it. Not long afterwards it no longer worked as the browser had changed (IE was upgraded). I contacted Techauthority and got nothing but run-around, and finally was told it had been updated and I could pay something like $130-150 to get that version. Oh yeah, and when will that one stop working? Finally got access to some site with a searchable OEM PDF and I haven't looked back, and after paying for one CD, I don't owe them anything.

Hi Joe, Thank you for your info. Do you know if there is there a wiring diagram anywhere on the cd? Any idea where one can get a wiring chart?
Under the very back of my truck bed is a six prong plug with a cap on it. What if it's prewired for my back up camera I'm installing? It's there for something and I'd love to trace it out. Thanks, Herb

When I purchased my 1992 W-250 CTD new in 1992, I ordered from Chrysler the factory Service Manual for that year Dodge Ram trucks. It is a printed-paper format – 8”x11” by about 2.5” thick. (Typical service manual of that era.)
It had service info not only on my CTD, but all the other Ram Pick-ups 150 thru 350, and Ramcharger I found a nice nylon zipper case to keep it in, and still carry in the truck behind the seat. I think it cost about $160.00. I still have it, and the truck.

I purchased a 2006 2500 CTD, and the O.E.M. printed manual for that truck was over $300.00 and comprised 7 Volumes – which I stored in a “Bookcase” consisting of a milk crate!

In 2010 my brother and I refurbished my 92, and did a conversion on his 1986 Ram 250 to install a CTD engine. At that time, we purchased online from a company called - moparmanuals.com - a CD copy of the factory parts manual, which came in very handy. We still have the disc, and the down-loaded copy on my computer. It still works perfectly.

I have also purchased from the same company, a CD version of the 2000 Jeep Wrangler service manual in CD format for my wife’s Jeep. It is also still working. (Both the Jeep & the CD.)

Incidentally, that company – moparmanuals.com - also offers manuals & parts books on CD for many, if not all, of the early Mopar vehicles. If you have an old Mopar, check them out.

The 1992 manual finally became worn, dog-eared and grease smudged, so I purchased a copy of that manual on CD from Geno’s, for about $60.00
It was produced by a company named - Bisko.com – That also has many other manuals available on CD. They do not seem to have any for the new trucks yet.

The Tech-Authority CD manual I have for my 2015 Ram has been working good so far, though at times it is frustrating trying to determine the particular section containing the information I’m looking for. Maybe it’s the Italian influence.
And, as I said in my earlier post, it is annoying to need a special computer just for that purpose. I can’t understand why they seem unable to produce a manual that will read on both PC and MAC computers. All the other CD manuals I have will do so.

I bought a cd for my 2007 CTD. Well, it was easy to read and contained wiring diagrams. I wish my new manual was in pdf format like that one. I could do a "find" search and go directly.
