I am getting ready to re paint my truck and am needing some parts. Just wandering if there is some one out there who still sells stuff like rear tail lights and interror peaces and aftermarket stuff for first gens. Every thing I find is for second gens:mad: Please help me, I am shure there is other people out there needing the same stuff but where is it????

OEM Parts

Try local Dodge dealer. I've gotten a right rear taillight lens, door hinge's, cargo light lens, trans. sol. governor, brake pedal pad, and new auto trans. Expensive in some cases.

Diamondplate rail, tailgate covers, bugshields, etc, are available through accessory outlets. Mike

Parts

Being a long time Dodge truck owner I too have found the dealer one of the best replacement parts sources. Since mopar never tended to gouge for parts quite as much as the other makes, many of the aftermarket outfits had no reason to make stock replacement parts for our trucks. The last tail lamp assembly that I purchased a few years back was only about $40 cdn. As for availability, I have had to wait a week or two for interior parts, got just about everthing else the next day or so. I parts for the engine from the local Cummins dealer, they have an amazing stock, never had to order anything it's always on the shelf.

Another good tip is to ask for shop or trade price, if you pay by cash, most parts vendors will give you a discount.

I have found a couple of sources; JC Whitney has a Dodge truck/SUV only catalog(some 1st gen items) and the other is this place.

I've not used them so I can't vouch for them and the items are sold without any copy righted logos from what I understand. If you want the logos, such as the "Dodge" on the tail gate you'll have to go to Dodge or a salvage yard.

paychk,

That's a nice page for body parts. What I need is the aluminum trim pieces at each door, where the carpet ends at the rockers. Mine look like road salt has attacked them, and the salt won. ;)

Neil,

That makes sense, why the aftermarket hasn't paid much attention to Dodge. I had figured it was because the numbers weren't as great as Chevy and Furd pickups. I used to own Chevy's and was used to the huge choice of accessories. Guess I should give the dealer a shot. With Chevy dealers, it was far too expensive for most items.
