My truck can't seem to push the boost past 30 psi, what gives. When I first installed my Supper B turbo I saw the boost numbers as high as 50 psi. I'm at my whits end with this. I've checked most of the culprits I've seen mentioned on other post like the boots, MAP sensor, Gauge connections, What else is there???

My EGT's are running around 900 cruising down the interstate (2100 RPM) when empty. The EGT temps were lower before I switched chips and went to the SMARTY. I had a Edge Comp on the truck when I saw the higher boost numbers. Don't know if the Edge chip created the problem or not but once I switched over to the Smarty I lost my boost and started running higher EGT's. The Edge is gone, sold, down the road, no longer installed on the truck. The only chip I'm running is the Smarty, which is an AWSOM product!!!

I find cruising EGT a little irrelevant. WOT or Up the Big Hill changes are what should stick out in your mind.

I had a small tear in a boot once. Didn't notice it until it became a big rip---but could still pull 30 psi --50 is normal. BUT the EGT gauge was hitting red twice as fast as before.

IF you boost numbers change AND your EGT's don't, then the gauge is suspect.

I inspected the boots while on the truck so I could have missed a hole or tear. I want to upgrade the boots anyway so I think I'll replace them and hope it will fix the problem. Any one else have similar symptoms? What was the cause?

The only way to check your boots 100% is to pressurize the system. Get some 3" plugs and drill one for a shrader valve and put 20lbs to it, if its there you'll find it.

Put the comp back and run the smarty in a non-timing program and you will get the boost back and "zum" . Replacing the comp with a smarty you will lose some 60 hp at wot. In other words ,stack em'
