WESTACH CUSTOM DUAL gauges
Hey Matt, THANKS for posing this link again on how you did your overhead gauges; I was JUST looking for it yesterday, and I couldn't find it on your sig anymore; I think that the way you did them is one of the SHARPEST ways anyone has done gauges here in their 3rd gens. I like the overhead pod mounted over the mirror for gauges that just need occasional monitoring. The overhead does NOT obstruct any road vision, or even aerial vision, as it is in the shaded part of our windshield ANYAWY. And I LIKE using the apillar with handle for egt/boost for EZ and SAFE gazing while driving; I am still planning on using your 3 pod overhead mounting style BUT I AM GOING to USE 3 MORE Westach Dual gauges to go WITH the Westach EGT/Boost that I already have on my grab handle. (too bad the grabhandle and gauge is still in it's box in the garage--#@$%!:-laf)
THESE ARE THE 3 EXTRA DUAL GAUGES I WILL EVENTUALLY BE ADDING--
1) Oil temp/Oil pressure
2) Voltmeter/Ammeter
3) Tran temp/ rear diff temp
I REALLY look forward to having a real Oil pressure gauge, as well as a real voltmeter. The fact that I can now get them with a real oil temp as well as a real ammeter is DEFINITELY ICING on the cake, because
Westach NOW offers the option of building CUSTOM DUAL gauges to match the style of thier standard offering in 2" dual (black on white OR white on black). You can build your own gauge here--http://www.westach.com/
Check out the "Build an Instrument" Tool on the left side column of the link. Their prices are NOT that much higher then their sStandard dual offerings, it just depends what senders you need to go with the gauge and they price and build accordingly. methinks that it is VERY COOL!!
You could even do an overhead 4 pod mount with still yet ANOTHER (#5) dual gauge, BUT I can't really think of what else I would want, unless I could get them to make a dual air pressure gauge for front and rear air bags, which I don't have but might want some day!!
So Matt, do you think I will be able to stuff and route all the wires and sending lines up through a -pillars and under the headliner and over to the overhead console, and gauge pod?? I am pretty sure that I will run half up one side and half up the other...
I am hoping to do it all this winter, BUT of course I still have to do my UTE/ headlight upgrade this Winter also, and THAT is DEFINITELY a priority; BUT maybe I'll get lucky and have enough time to do them BOTH!!!Oo. Oo.
