I have been going through the front of the engine. Front cover, KDP, timing, all cooling pieces. I didn't expect it to take me so long to get it put back together and I have one extra bolt that looks very specific and also found two wires that I would think should be connected to something. Here are the pics.

The connector has a cap on it. Not a problem.

The bolt, I'm not quite sure. It isn't for the tach pick-up. They were studs on my truck.

From where the 'weatherpak' connector is there are two black wires that come out and look like they were just cut. You can see the one looks like it is running into the grid heater.

My Crank position/tach signal is also held with studs.

I can't remember exactly where the bolt goes, but it is one of the lower bolts for the front cover. Seems like it is on the passenger side and very close to the belt. Hope that helps.

I figured out the bolt and for anyone else that might be wondering I will write this little post. It goes on the front cover. If you go down from the oil fill and two over to the left it sits right next to the balancer and keeps the belt from possibly moving back and getting caught behind the pulley. I can't see that happening but that is where it goes. Maybe this will help someone else.

Now what are the darn wires for?

I looked on my '95. There appear to be three possibilites.

1) The harness to the sensor for RPM mounted just above the vibration damper. That connector goes into the harness kind of in front of the first valve cover.

2) The WIF sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter.

3) The IAT sensor on top of the intake manifold behind the air horn.

I'll take a look after work today but the WIF sounds like a real possibility. I know it is not the crank position sensor, but the IAT is a possibility as well. Thanks for the leads.
