Where do you buy a Delphi steering box

Unable to find a source to purchase a new Delphi steering box. Do any of you know. Thanks Richard

Richard, The part # 52113500AF is for the Delphi box. Some people are going with a rebuilt box from Dave Mitchell of Enterprise Engines of Thornville Ohio. You might want to give him a call. Jeff

What's the verdict on the AGR box? About half the cost of a new box. This is from Summit.



BTW Jeff, after all that work to put on new ball joints, I had an accident and took out the axle as well as sundry other front end parts. Broke the Pittman arm shaft coming out of the box. Hence the inquiry. Very little body damage. A month to fix. Ugh! Happy New Year! Hmmmmm!!

Hey Tom, Sorry to hear of the accident. There were some posts about the AGR box. They didn't look to positive. Guys are looking into the Dave Mitchell boxes. Might be the way to go. Jeff

Checked the Part # 52113500AF at local stealer and its a good number but what does it fit. By the 3500 # i would guess all HD trks. Going to wait for Hemi-Dart to get his mitchel rebuilt box in and tested before i pay out big bucks for a new box. Thanks for all the info. I told a guy at the parts counter today to get a TDR membership, he had never heard of it but knows now. RichardOo.

Well, I need a box. It's the last thing we need to start to put my truck back on the road. I'll send the AGR back to Summit and get one from EE. No choice. It's my work truck and I've been w/o it for 2 weeks already and we're probably looking at another 2 weeks for repairs and body work. Neons don't work very well for hauling tools.

Maybe the AGR box you got is a good one? It's a tough decision to use it or not. You probably have read my posts on the AGR chuck I have now. It's real loose. I have to pull it and send it back. Total PITA.



I didn't get around to installing the new Dave Mitchell box today. We got 12" of snow last night. Truck under carriage is loaded with snow. I would flood the Car Club, and get mad when the snow melts and drips on my face.

From what I've gathered in threads like this, the Delphi is the "better" stock box for our trucks - and is what's on mine, but what other make does DC use in these trucks?

any new ones from dealer should be Delphi old one use to be saganaw box. I had new Delphi box put on by dealer about 40k ago still doing ok, alot better than original

Replaced the original with an AGR. That went bad and replaced it with a factory modified AGR (they installed a zerk fitting and a bronze bearing). That one is now bad along with the lower ball joints. Don't know if the cause are the ball joints.



Anyone have any luck with the Mitchell box? Got their number?

Did any trucks come with the Delphi box OEM?

So I am wondering if I have the Delphi box on my truck already. Most people say by 9K miles I should have noticed it loosening up some, but mine is tight as a drum.



When did the good boxes come out? Were the ever OEM'd?



I have a LATE '02 (last of the good ones)

My 02 has a Delphi box on it from the factory. Looking down from the top it will have Delphi casted in the box. It's real easy to see. My steering is starting to loosen up with 26000 miles on the truck. Time to order Darin's brace. Jeff

GM used to own "Saginaw steering gear", I think they sold out this part of their business and the company is now call Delphi. They have a plant near where I live. This happened around 2 years ago. RollTideRam
