Here in Georgia there was no class. Went to court house, did paper work, paid and then went to JAIL to have someone take you deep into the jail and run fingerprints through the computer(if a warrant etc. they already got you!) then withen 3 or 4 weeks the license came in the mail.

i figured it out... the answer "indefinatly" thanks for the help boys! once you take the class and recieve the certificate of completion, you have forever to claim to the sherriffs dept and get the actual liscense. forever works for me!

Governor for sale,cheap!

I'm praying for tuesday's election that NRA's slogan "DUMP DOYLE" holds true in Wisconsin. As previously stated this official(Governor) twice vetoed the personal protection act(concealed carry) when it got to his desk and the vote to overide failed twice, once by 1 vote, once by 2 votes by dummocrats who originally voted to pass the bill. Wonder what was going on under the table when that hand was dealt?

There is a federal law that allows retired police officers with 15 or more years experience to be able to carry but Wisconsin(Kommyfornia East) doesn't recognize it as state law supercedes it. Also I hope our incumbent state representative loses his re-election bid for several reasons, one his opposition to the PPA which his stance is based on the fact "that a majority of his constituents don't support it according to survey results he sent out and received back". The results of his survey: 41% against... 48% FOR... the rest undecided.

Supposedly Wisconsin is now one of only 4 states in the nation that does not now have concealed carry. These bureaucrats just can't figure it out even when all the positive results of states with concealed carry passage are shown to them. They are the same ones that said 15 years or so ago when the state allowed handguns to be used for deer hunting that there were going to be drunken gunfights in the bars after hunting, etc. The beauty of it is there has never been a single incident since the bill was passed of any problems with the passage of that law.

THESE LIBERAL LAWMAKERS JUST NEVER TOOK CONSTITUTIONAL LAW 101. that reads Lawmakers make laws that Lawbreakers never keep, they only infringe on the rights of the American citizens and taxpayers! BUT Lawbreakers understand and respect the "WHAT IF PRINCIPLE". (What if he or she is carryingggggg?) Sorry for the long post. GOD bless America!

?? I thought Federal law overrode state law.

That doesn't mean the states won't try to get away with whatever they can.

Makes me wonder if a pocket pistol would fit in the ash tray. They may be different sizes of ash trays in different years. If bought new and you do not smoke it would be clean. The gun laws were written by those who believe a gun can fire itself. I have a CWP and prefer a shoulder holster. Does not interfere with driving. Better to have it handy and not need it than have it inaccessible and need it. When it comes to all the quirky laws in all the states that have or don't have CWP I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. If you have to change a tire on the side of the road at night (and even in the daytime) you could be killed and robbed. Once when in Georgia I ask the police if they would honor my out-of-state CWP and they said when broke down be sure to have it on you, they had incidents of people being killed and robed on the side of the interstate. There are obviously those who cruise looking for opportunities. In the 70s I had a flat inside the city limits of Detroit on the interstate and the Michigan State Police would not leave me there by myself until it was fixed and I was on my way. They told a couple of horror stories. That was their assigned duty to protect broke down motorists. It does not have to be Michigan or Georgia it can and does happen everywhere. My wife refuses to learn to handel a firearm. She says why should I, I have you to protect me. I will do my best. DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT.
