Hey Doc, you forgot the front porch where all RED-NECK dogs sleep. Any way thats where my pack of kyuudles sleep

My dog sleeps on the floor in the hallway right in front of my daughter's bedroom door. He will not move til she wakes up in the morning... then he follows her downstairs. Guess its her dog now. :)

But my dog sleeps on the couch, under the table, on the bed, in the middle of the floor, on the back of the couch, on any chair, and if he can get away with it, on your lap.

I've also caught him napping on the stairs... but I have no idea what that's about.

Mine usually sleep on the floor and they like to sleep in the unfinished area of the basement in the warmer months on the concrete floor. When we hit the rack, they join us on the floor of the bedroom, especially if the A/C is on. They hate sumer as much as I do and love the cold.

Sometimes they decide for a big group hug and both jump up on the bed. Nothing like having 320 lbs. of dogs rocking the bed with their heavy breathing as a wake up call  .

Sleeping dogs

I would have bet that Bigsaint's answer would have been "Anywhere they want to". :D

I got two Redneck Junkyard dogs, Harley D. sleeps in the barn beside my Electra Glide and Scooter sleeps under the 5er.

Then we've got Casey, an elderly overweight half blind almost toothless (19 yrs old) chee wa wa that sleeps anywhere in the house as long as it's within 2 feet of my wife. She (Casey, not the wife)waits to be covered with a blanket every night in her little bed beside ours.

My three legged Rottie sleeps on the bed, my 154lb Rottie (4 legs) sleeps on the floor next to the bed and the half Rottie/Half Sheppard sleeps in the hall. I amsure if they had the room, they would all be in the bed.

Hey Bigsaint, were you kidding about your dog weighng 320 pounds?

Siberians

Our Siberian Huskys would be just as happy in our bed. BigSaint has us beat in weight, ours are 80#s each. They still have to fill out yet as they are only 1yr old.

Rob, thats too cool. I bet your daughter feels safe knowing he there :D .

Doggone sleeping quarters

Five dogs, all feel must take over bed, human no sleep... very tired, wake up dog hair in mouth... dogs not taking good care of human, will report to ASPCH!!! Question I am asked, do dogs snore—Oh God, Yes!! [ Am very glad though pony doesn't know he can make it into house, couch would sag, beer would be gone!!;) ]

Not an easy poll to answer when you have 4 dogs. 1 under the poarch, 1 in a kennel, 1 in a dog bed or on my overalls, and 1 on the couch ( where I Sleep ). Guess which one is my favorite, or maybe I'm her favorite.

All three of my dogs find their way onto someones bed every night. The 85lb. lab likes to get in bed with Mrs Doc and I, once we fall asleep. Ever try kicking a 85lb. dog out of bed when he doesn't want to go? I'm liable to lose a foot one of these days.

One night I was dreaming that I was kissing a beautiful young blonde, I awoke and there stood my Dalmatian looking me square in the face. I got up and spit in the sink for twenty minutes.

Snoring

Our Chololate Lab sleeps next to my side of the bed so I can trip over her at night. She snores like a sailor on leave, both in and out. It is so loud, that when she stop my wife wakes me up to see if the dog is still alive.

Lemme see now, I have 3 that snooze on the front porch or under my Ram their choice, 2 in the bed with my wife (no room for me anymore I sleep on the couch), 1 sleeps anyhwere he flops down in the house, and 9 more down in the kennel. At one time I had 20 50% Wolf/huskies, two orphan Beagle Jack Russell mixed, and one German Shephard/Chow mix.

Before Smokey passed on, I had enough dogpower to field my own dogsled team in the Iditarod with several alternates.

When I had my Borzoi, they all slept in my Twin bed with me. There were three very large furry bodies and one crumpled, twisted owner trying to fight for any available mattress remaining. Forget trying to kick them off the bed... I was seriously outnumbered! Since those early vet school days, the Borzoi have passed to better places (sleepin' on the clouds) and I have learned a very valuable lesson (actually two). The first is that sleeping in a bed is a privilege. I don't mind the Labs joining in the pajama party every once in a while, but countless nights of backaches and torqued neck muscles have taught me to limit the quilt-sharing. The critters have a very cushy homemade bed that they can crash on nightly. The second lesson learned is that a bed can never be big enough. My days of the Twin are over -- hello King-sized mattress! Now I just have to fight my two-legged counterpart (DBR) for the covers!

Diesel Dog House,

I hear you about the pony... I have an App that would prefer a mattress over his shavings any day. He knows how to open the latch on his stall. My saving grace is that he hasn't figured out the doorknobs yet! (I live in fear... ).

Doc Tinker,

From a young veterinarian's point of view, you should love your pets, but you shouldn't LLLOOOVE your pets... sorry to hear you had the Crying Game experience post-awakening to your dog. That's what you get for dreaming about a blonde hottie! Maybe I'm biased, I'm just a simple brunette.

Fun Poll!

Mrs. DBR

(just so there is no confusion... this post was starting to sound a bit girly, don't want you boys wondering about DBR's preferences! I'm not saying it's wrong... it's just not DBR!).

EMDDIESEL, that was a combined weight. Baxter, the one you see in my av. pic, weighs 190 and he is officially on a diet. Barkley, the 'smaller' female, weighs in at a petite 130 lbs, when dry.

lol@snoring, come on over to my house if you want to hear some.

Hey Doc,

This one should have been able to respond with multiple answers, or an all of the above. My dog sleeps anywhere.

sleeping dogs

My Bullterrier (14 yrs. old this mo. ) Sleeps anywhere he wants, with one exception. He isn't allowed on on the couch. Mostly he sleeps in a Freightliner. He has missed 1 load in 14 years of long distance trucking.

Molly (the Bullmastiff) usually stays in her own bedroom during the day but has moved to the side of the bed at night. She is kept off by 2 cats who refuse to share the bed. :D

The puppy sleeps in the kennel for now. We had her since she was 5 weeks old (about 3 weeks) and she only piddled in the house a few times. Never dumped there... . thank God. Not bad for a mut that was never in a house till we got her. We're afraid the house would be trashed if we let her loose all night. She's pretty rowdy.

My Wifes Chihuahua sleeps in a cat bed. She only weighs about 6 lbs, so it's plenty roomy for her. If we put that bed on the top of a freight train @ 80 mph, she'd sleep there.

Occasionally we wake up in the morning to find that she moved to the bedroom floor over night.

We do not allow out dogs on the furnature.
