Well, after a ton of searching, the best truck I have found thus far is a Mineral Grey 2006 with 81,000 miles. No goose-neck hitch but did have a trailer brake. Was a wife's truck that she occasionally hauled a horse trailer with but mostly kids. Price was $28,000. What do you think?

B&W GN Hitch is about $400 if you install it yourself... . takes about 1 1/2 hours to install...

How equipped is the truck? Condition of tires? Any accesories/modifications?

I'd take a real close look at the front end of that truck before I'd settle on a price. 81K is right about the time that you are looking at ball joints, u-joints, etc. on these things. I just did the front axle u-joints on my '07 at 51K. I believe I did ball joints and u-joints on the at '04. 5 closer to 100K. Not a deal killer by any means, but you may want to inspect those problem areas to know exactly what you are going to be in to money wise.

I will defintiely check out the front-end. As far as the goose-neck goes, I am looking for a truck that doesn't have one (hoping it might be less worked than one that does have one). The price is the first one they gave me so I will definitely work on it. I'm still not sure I'm going to get this one... kind of hoping to find something with fewer miles. This one also doesn't have a bunch of options but the tires are good

2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck $29,995 - Cross Country Enterprises - Hop Bottom, PA 18824-9711 Dealer

check this guy out. this is where i got my truck from. he is a real small dealership and sells at pretty good prices. bob is the guy that runs it, hes real nice but does not have the resources like a bigger dealership. he somehow gets a lot of cummins with standard transmissions. good luck, i know it took me about a year to finally find the right truck... standard transmissions are so hard to find

Thanks for the info. I am actually on my way to Illinois right now to check out a prospect. The truck you mention does look nice though! Thanks again.

Yes, they are hard to find, and worth alot if a dealer knows what they've got. My brother went through the motions, for a used 2500 like my old one. They all had 150K or more and expensive, so he asked me if I was willing to sell my 04. 5 to him, seeing how I had three trucks, if I include my Toyota Tacoma. So I told him I would sell it to him at $1000. 00 under Kelley Blue Book in the excellent condition category (because it was). He agreed, but he still had to pay off his 03 4X4 2500 SB QC 5spd Hemi, and he needed a loan that would include both. I was surprized when he called me and said the Bank would give him a loan on my/his truck and be able to payoff his old truck.

He got a great deal, because after he agreed and had approval, I had all of the maintenance items that were not due, but were 1000 miles from being due. I had them all taken care of to include a fresh oil change the day before he got it. Then I had it fully detailed inside and out. I guess I didn't want any family issues causing problems for us, and paid for it, so I would know that the "Excellent Condition" meant just that. He had to fly in from Salt Lake to drive it back home.

Just a little FYI. I sold my 2005 Dodge 3500 4*4 Quad Cab Auto, Loaded Laramie with about 78k on it for $ 26,500 two weeks ago. It was in really good shape. Needed tires this coming winter and a little paint rub on one rear fender. Black Exterior, Dark Slate Interior. No dents, I bought new.

Try this guy Trucks/SUV's he gets trucks from Texas all the tim plus he's real easy to trade with over the phone and internet using pictures. I feel we made a fair deal and I love my end . Call Brad.

Many Offers

I've had numerous offers on my truck, both from private and dealerships. One dealership here locally calls me about every 6 months for the past 2 years. I don't mind as it reminds me of the trucks value.

Resale value on my truck is amazing !!! I love my truck :-laf

Well, I finally found one! 2006 2500 5. 9 Mega Cab 6-spd Gray 3. 73 Laramie with 55,000. I ended up getting a great deal on it. The truck is in great shape with the exception of a few cosmetic scratches. I couldn't be happier.

It's kind of a funny thing; I test drove it with the windows down but of course when I started to make the 6. 5 hours trip home I put the windows up and cranked on the A/C... felt like a hair dryer! Turned around and to make a long story short had to have the dealer put in writing to get the A/C fixed back in MIssouri. I be they were wishing they would have caught it before then because it was the evaporator leaking = $1100.

The truck needs new wheels and tires and also the 4" lift removed. I'll try and post a pic of it sometime soon. There was 7 people that called while I was there asking about to buy it! Ridiculous

Yep, I know what you mean. I had my truck at the local dealer for an oil change and state inspection about a month ago. Both the service writer and a tech asked if I would consider selling it to them. As I drove around the building to leave, a sales lady whom I know, came running out to flag me down to see if I was ready to sell it. Nope, not for sale!!:D:D

Happened to me at the alignment shop last Friday. One of these days the temptation to let one go is going to get to me.
