Where have we gone?

I was looking at the pictures of different readers trucks and it is too bad that their are not more pictures of 1st generation trucks. I realize their are far fewer of us but it would be nice to see a lot more pictures of everyones rigs! I enjoy looking at them. It is nice to see how others have detailed and personalized their trucks. Hence, if you have not created an alblum on this website please do! Lets show some 1st gen pride.

Well I would post pic's. But that is the one thing I haven't learned how to do yet.



Mine has some rust. It needs some paint. But those two items are for next year.



I have been working on getting the previous owners finger prints removed. I. E. lack of maintenance>wrong parts installed to save money. Sh^t rigging and so on and so forth.



I haven't even started on the Dodge TSB's yet. But from the ones I have read on line. None were done.

To me the shape of the truck doesn't matter. I just like looking at other people's trucks. My truck is not bad but it is not show and shine ready. Posting pictures is not that hard. It is just a matter of creating an album and adding pictures to it. (NOTE: Maximum image file size is 122800 bytes) Hence, depending on the size of your picture and resolution you might have to tweak it a bit but it is pretty easy. No one needs to be worried about the looks of their truck. We are all a bunch of 1 gen. lovers so all pictures are appreciated!!!!!!!! So... ... . Everyone! Make an photo album and display your rig!

I still can't figure out how to post a pic with my threads but the photo album is pretty easy to set up. If I could do it then anyone can!



Titon, your right about wanting people to post pics of their 1st gens. Will be fewer and fewer of these as the years go by. I just sorted the albums by year and found 16 1989 thru 1993 trucks. I know there are more than that out there.

Titan not lying about maximum size of your picture's. It took me week's and about ten people to figure out why I could not get my picture's to down load off of the floppy disk into the Member's Rig's section. If I can do it any body can, just might take a few day's to figure it out .

Well I figured out how to setup an album. Got that done. Then I'm thinking. All right time to dig out the digital camera and go to it. Yea right. XP doesn't like my camera.



Just installed XP a couple of months ago. I hadn't needed the camera. So never tried it before.



I went over to the Polaroid website. That was a waste of bandwidth. LOL



So until I get a hold of another camera. I guess I'll have an empty album.



I don't know what is worse. Trying to get the previous owners finger prints off my truck or have to put up with Micro$oft. LOL

For those of you not owning a digital camera but wanting to create an album you still can. Take pictures using a traditional camera and when you take the film in for developing have the pictures put onto disc. Most places that develop film have this as a common option. I believe the pictures even comes with their own picture viewing program. It isn't expensive at all. I have even seen places now that allow you to bring in a picture, they scan it and give you a digital image on disc. Both options are much cheaper than buying a digital camera. However... . If you are like me, I am always looking for a reason to justify buying some new electronic device. LOL... "Oh dear, I need a new digital camera so I can put some pictures of my truck on the web... . It will take good kid photos also!!!!" Good luck all! I hope to see your photos soon. (Remember: There are only 16 albums with 1st generation trucks on this website! WE NEED MORE!)

For the ones that don't know how to get the pic's on the web page because the image size is too big. HELP us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



I've tried in the past and just gave up. I can tear my truck apart but when it comes to p. c. tech i'm lost. I have pic's in my p. c. and know how to access them but i get the too big to post message every time.

Might have worked 20 years ago. But my youngest one is almost 21 now. But it is worth a try. LOL

If you have trouble with the size of the file, there are two main ways to fix that:



1) Resize the picture. Normally this needs to be done in a paint type of program. After you change the size resave the image and then try to upload it to your album.



2) Change the resolution of the image. This is also done using the software application that you are viewing your image on. Sometimes this is found when you resave the image under a different name. Go to the <Save as> option under the File drop down menu on the upper right side of the program window. Normally it will give you some resolution options.



I hope this helps. I am sorry that I didn't have time to walk everyone through step-by-step but I am on my way out. If time later, I will post a more thorough response. Let me know if you want more detail on how to do this. I would be glad to help.

A big North West hello to all. For those of you who've been following the fire news out west, although it may appear that the entire state of Oregon is on fire, it really is only 90% or so ... ... I think. I'ts kinda hard to tell with all this diesel smoke.



Anyway, here's a shot of my old girl. She's not as purdy as some of the others but she's got a real good work ethic if I do say so myself! (See gallery for bigger ver. )

A friend of mine 62 year old wife (retired nurse )figured out my to big picture problem. She put my floppy disk in her brand new (cost way to much for) digital camera and shrunk my picture's down with the camera. Then it work like a charm. I don't know much about this computer and I figured it out.

If you have a graphics program you can adjust the 'gamma correction' a bit and brighten up the darker parts for a better view.

This is your pic adjusted a bit, with your permission of course.

I've got a pic in my album, but I had to steal it from photos posted after the Muncie event this year. I took a regular camera pic with my wife's camera recently. I'll have to get it developed and scanned. The trailer and toys were hooked up in the pic.

I use Photoshop and create adjustment layers to apply level corrections, brightness/contrast corrections,etc. Same basic process I guess. Should have lightened it a little more but it was past my bedtime . Also I have a really big bright display on my computer that tends to make things look better than they are!

Come to think of it, my wife tells me I frequently think a lot of things are better than they are... . hmmmm.
