JTMcC. mine needs paint also. The pic just makes it look better.

Dieselgirl. What are you doing to your rig?

It would be nice if there were more of us. But with the age of these trucks now. There will be more people going to the shiny newer ones in the future. But I'll have mine for a while. When I pick up a new to me 1 ton. I usually keep it for at least a couple of rebuilds.

I haven't finished the first rebuild on this truck yet. :D

This one makes the 5th 1 ton in 20 years. So I hang on to them for a while.

I agree, let's see more pictures of the first gens!!!

Here is my new truck. I have now taken the bed cover off and like the looks much better.

Dan

Thanks.

I didn't mean that it didn't look nice, just that I didn't particularly like the "look" of the cover. It is suspended in the rafters of the garage ready to be reinstalled for those winter trips, etc.

By the way, it rolled 50k on the trip to MO this weekend.

Have a great day,

Dan

Well, I have been out of town the last couple of days and it is great to see pictures being posted. I really enjoy see other peoples trucks. I for one am always having my neck snap to the side as I pass other 1st generation trucks on the road. I think it is a pretty common condition because the person(s) in the truck I'm looking at snaps their to look at mine pass. Lets face it people, our trucks are not that common anymore. Every year that passes more and more are headed to the juck yard (recked). Therefore, there will come a time that this form will be very preservation oriented and will treasure every picture taken. Keep posting pictures and creating albums.

Titan

You're right, Titan. I know of only one other first gen diesel in the area where I live and travel daily. Last night though, I saw a dark red W250, and it did have the Cummins clatter as we passed by each other. ;) We both waved. Once in a while I'll see a first gen, and one thing I look for is the large exhaust, it seems like most have the smaller gasser tailpipe. :(

We have a quite a few 1st gens in my local area. Single wheel models there are quite a few. But with the one I drive. I have only seen two. One guy works at the Dodge trany plant. He is bombed big time. Smokes like a loco. The other one is a black one like mine. I have seen him twice. But I don't know where he lives. He has been on a 4 lane both times I have seen him.

Philip in the process of painting it right now, Can't wait until it's done. My Dad is building a nice Ranch hand for the frontOo.

I'm just taking my time (But I am getting impatient). ;)

I'm making it perfect to show and shine,

But I will put pics on readers rigs when I'm done.

I like the look of the ranch hand style bumpers. I'm think about building one also. That and make the pickup bed go some where else. I like 6 wheels and flat steel my self. :D

Nice looking ride bflood.

We are now up to 18 albums. Keep making them people. The new ones look great!!!!! Thanks everyone. Check them out people. Oo. :) :) :) :)

Man, there's a lot of cool trucks there . I've been tryin to get mine on from digital but I'm just plain lame when it comes to figuring out this P C stuff !... . Maybe I can get my 9 year old nephew to help me:confused:

I finally have it figured out... There's stiill hope for the computer challenged .....

Nice looking truck csnider! Doesn't look like there is even a chip in the paint. Has it ever been repainted? NICE TRUCK! We are at 19 albums now everyone... . Keep making them!

Thanks for the comments, It's got stock paint . . That's just the good side you're lookin at:D ..... The guy that owned it before me kept it inside... ..... Sure makes a difference..... Chuck

Thanks for the compliment. Maybe all that washin and waxin has paid off. . ;)

As for the bumper, it cost a case of beer, half a day in 'the shop' and some hand rail donated by our provincial ferry corp.

I should start painting little critters on it just like the WWII planes did for every 'Duff' I've had...

bob. :D
