What is the Best place to buy oil for my Cummins in the Sacramento, CA Area? I'm ready for my first oil change, and I have no Idea where to buy it, except at the dealer which is not usually the most cost effective place to go.

I see this is post #1 for you.

Welcome to the forums. :D

Walmart usually has a couple of brands of Diesel-rated oil in the automotive section.

Price is usually good also.

If you are not going to use synthetic, an approved diesel motor oil is available at Costco, chevron delo 400 (15-40w), comes 6 gallons to a case; it was recommended to me by the Cummins warranty representative. I do not advocate the use of any particular motor oil, however this is easy to obtain anywhere, is a great price at costco, and I use it!

Thanks for the replys, but does anyone know offhand if they sell it at sams club also? Maybe it is time to get a costco membership instead.

I bought 6 gallon box of Rotella T at Sam's here the other day. I think it was $33 or so for the 6 gal's I think they had another brand there as well, but I can't remember the brand.

Welcome to the TDR. Fill out your truck bio so we know what'ya got!

Don't ask what brand to use around here, it gets ugly. Thats' all I'll say. ;)

Rotella or Dello 400 at Sams, Costco, walmart, Kmart or any other place that sells them for a reasonable price.

I buy my Dello at Costco and chose it because it seems to stink less than Rotella... . :D
