My friend's 02 is under the firewall all the way on the back of the intake manifold. I can't find mine in that location. The only thing I can see is on top of the manifold near the middle. I would like to take it out and clean it. Has anyone cleaned theirs? If so, where can I find mine? Thanks.

You have an AIT (Ambient Air Temp) sensor in the air intake filter box and a MAP (The combination, dual function Intake Manifold Air Temperature Sensor/MAP Sensor) installed into the top of the intake manifold.

Should I clean it regularly? My friend's 02 needs to be cleaned alot. He says it's because the E-Brake soots it up.

I have not cleaned my MAP sensor in almost 4 years. The AIT sensor on the air filter intake box is easy to clean and I do clean it when I change air filters.

I would not worry about the MAP sensor unless you start getting codes that relate to its function.
