I would like to get a set of steel wheels that I can just switch the trimrings and covercaps from my stock ST rally style rims onto. Then I can save the forty bucks twice a year it costs to switch from snows to summer tires. Has anyone found a good deal?

Arcticat, best deals I've seen are right here in the TDR classifieds. Hate to say this ,but the dealer can be a good source also, many folks have the dealer switch to custom rims before they take delivery of a new rig,the dealers get stuck with the old ones. They will also add custom rims to a used truck to dress it up for a fast sale. Check 'em out.

I quit running winter tires about five years ago after getting my tires siped when new. They come real close to being as good as studs for winter traction plus siping makes the tires last much longer, the tires run cooler. My local tire dealer charges $7 per tire for siping,it can be done to a used tire also. It is pronounced sigh-ping.

Arcticat,

I picked up a set of white 5 spokes for my snows. Cost was about $25 a pop at the tire house where I bought my snows. 'course my truck is white, so that kinda matched.

Many dealers cut deals with local tire shops to get custom wheels and tires. The tire shop ends up with the stock stuff and may sell it at greatly reduced cost.
