Where is the block heater?

I'm pretty sure my truck came with the block heater cord, but I have yet to plug it in. Now, I need my truck early tomorrow morning, it's hovering around zero outside right now and my truck hasn't been started for almost a week.



When I run outside and try to find the cord, where should I be looking?

I know I have a different year/engine, but my cord was near the intercooler/radiator area on the passenger side. Just inside the fender/bumper/grille interface. Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

I have heard that the block heater is in place of the frontmost freeze plug, passenger side. Right around the oil filter, has a cord coming out.

Let us know what you find.

I just looked today to try and find mine. Well, the element is in the block, but no cord. I'm guessing the cord is an option.

I'm almost positive the cord is an extra cost option. If it wasn't listed on the window sticker, it probably isn't there.

Yes, the cord is an option. Apparently the cord is cheaper at cummins than dodge.

Thanks guys, it was right by the intercooler just above the bumper on passenger side.



Thanks to your help, I was able to find the plug in quickly and minimize my time standing in the snow in my slippers at -5.
