Where IS the Clockspring?

I know the Clockspring is somewhere in the steering column. But where exactly?. Maybe ill just replace it myself instead of waiting for the dealer to have the time and possibly damaging my truck or Re Flashing my computer. If the part is less then 50 bucks and is easy to get too, ill just do it in my driveway. Anybody know?????

It is at the top of your steering column right behind the airbag. I have a friend who works in the shop at the dealership, and he assured me that they would not touch anything else, so I took mine in, and they did it in about 20 minutes while I waited.

Hey, EMD, if you are going to do it yourself, make sure you read the service manual about allignment of the wheel and when to remove any restraining tape on the spring.

Does the air bag also work through the clock-spring?

If so, you may want to wear a helmet while changing it.
