Take the AFC housing off, and turn it upside down. You will see a bolt head on the outside front of the AFC housing (side that faces front of the motor).

Once you have the housing off you should see it, its a big elbow is the only way I can think to describe it.

Tell the person who's rack stop your planning on taking out, if they care anything about mileage to leave it in and play with the star wheel instead!:eek:

I'm about to go outside right now and re-install mine. :rolleyes:

Smokey... ... . HELL YEAH!:D

Lost small cars behind me and a few fullsize trucks on occasion. (My buddy with the '02 3500 didn't like that one!:-{} :-laf )

BUT I had to draw the line after a trip I just took a couple of weekends ago.

Went to Gatlinburg Tennsee, which is about 250 miles away from me. Last year when I went down there I had just bought my truck 4 days before and hadn't done anything to it.

I went down to Gatlinburg, came back, and went to the Amsouth Ampetheater (sp) and only used between 1/2 and 3/4's of a tank. 500+ miles in all. Got about 21 mpg I think.

This year when I went down I had removed my muffler (which didn't hurt my mileage) and my rack stop. Went down and came back driving same speed as last year, and used right at 3/4's of a tank! Went home and filled up the next day and did my mileage and it came out to 17. 5!!!:eek: That's what I usually get driving around town. :{

Anyhow especially with me going up to Black Mountain Diesel tomorrow that little sucker went back in! I'll just play with the star wheel a little to make a little more smoke, but not suffer in MPG's as much.

I've found that any decrease in MPG is usually attributed to me keeping my right foot into it for too long... .

When you know you can make smoke... . you try to do it all the time once you have the capability... . especially if you happen to have a lot of tailgaters, or passengers in your truck that don't believe you when you say the truck goes pretty well for its size... . :D

Yeah but after the first week (and tank) the newness wore off.

I think my idle is too low on the truck because I had to really baby it from a stop not to dump a cloud behind me.

It got to the point of where I only used it on tailgaters or friends, but I still would just rather have the MPG back

I've hit 16mpg on a few tanks and was a little surprised... . but that's the price you pay when you are putting down some decent power.

The looks I get from people when they have to drive though a nice cloud of burnt #2 is priceless... . Cheap thrills... .
