I think the Cobra under the drivers seat is the way to go, unless you have SSB or favorite radio you want to use. I would love to mount my 1976 Royce with the Turner Plus 3 Road King power mic in my truck. Its to big to go in the storage area up front. If the seat were not so close to the door pocket I'd try that. Have dual mirrow antennas that I can't use yet. I'm going figure a way to get them on there and go with the cobra under the seat most likely. Just don't have the room up front. If can't get mirrow to work will mount them on a head ache rack on the outside.

The Brolin (wunder Mount) Is awesome! I bought three of these for myself & others. Craftsmanship is great, clean installation & no drilling. My 2-meter radio fits on it great & with this mount it also gives you a place to mount auxilary switches without any drilling. I have my backup lighs, rocker switch mounted on the side of the frame.

Like was mentioned earlier though, hard for a 3rd person to sit in the front.
