There are many after market options out there so you will be flooded with answers , IMHO go for a replacment bumper and the works, I dont think there is just a grill gaurd tough enough out there to wack a deer and still protect the truck so I went whole hog, try this... ... ... ... ... ... . http://www.ranchhand .com

Cheers, Kevin

What Kevin Said

You are sure to get a ton of answers but here are a couple more that I am researching for myself. Do a TDR search and a web search on:

Denver Off Road - Solid Al bumpers - http://www.denveroffroad.com/

Tough Country bumpers - Similiar to Ranch hand but I think I like the looks a little better - www.toughcountry.com

Reunel bumpers - cool bumpers but dang heavy - http://www.reunel.com/index.html

I've seen DOR and Toughcountry in person and love em both, but it's serious coin for a full replacement. I don't like the winch option cause would need to have mobility if I got a winch. I would not spend the money on a grille guard.

Good luck!

Those are some great places to look.

Rod is awesome to do business with and only carries quality products. They're not on the Northeast, but it is another option.

BTW, I've had Ranchhand and they are awesome too, FWIW.

If nothing you see strikes your fancy, design your own and have a local welder make it for you. That's what I did, and it turned out really clean.

Try Randy at www.uteltd.com, I have one of their bullbars mounted on my truck. I've had several comments from knowledgeable people on the quality of their welding and polishing. The install was fairly easy using simple tools. They're located up in Seattle and the bumper really looks good on our CTDs.

Patriot, I' curious. Someone said when they first installed their Ute bumper they were having overheating problems due to the small air openings. Have you experienced any of that? Also, have you towed anything in excess of 10k at altitude as part of the evaluation? The air openings seem to be small to me. Thanks

I had the link but forgot to post it above...

Check out ARB's new Dodge Sahara front end replacement. Darn sharp!

Here's another option...

I just had one of these put on - looks good and is quality material:

www.aliarc.com

They're in Winnipeg and fab a lot of "moose bars" for OTR drivers way up north who occasionally see, and hit, moose, deer, cows, horses -

I've had a lot of compliments on mine - I like all the other ones referenced here, too; but I couldn't argue with the cost at $960-$980 USD!

Man there is a killer looking Ranch Hand bumper in the classifieds and some more bumpers I believe on top of that. Check 'em out... .

I just bought a 2001 3500 4X4, with a monster bumper from Waco Texas already on it, this thing is built like a brick crap house, and has a complete grill guard and head light wrap around, not to mention their customer service was great, I ordered the winch mounting plate, and installed a new 8K winch, it all fit like a charm, if this sounds like what you are looking for let me know, and I will take some photos tomorrow and post them, and I will also get you the # so you can call the to locate a dealer near you ;).

Ps, this thing will take out bambie, and clean him for you all in one step:D  :--)

Warmer... yes! Overheating? No!

The coolant temp seems to have gone up a little, maybe 10 degrees when the outside temps are really up there. Even at 100 F and 80+ mph highway speeds, I've never seen it over 190.

No I never towed anything 10K lbs, or in any altitude to speak of.

I'm pretty much at sea level.

I hit a deer last Sunday started looking for a bumper. There was a ARB bumber locally but it did not have the bars around the headlights. It looked realy nice. Then I called a company locally and they make truck flatbeds and bodies they also make front bumpers. They look similar to a Ranch Hand but dont have the diamond plate steel which I thought made the Ranch Hand look tacky. Pierce Mfg of Kalispel, price is pretty similar to all the other bumpers. Going hunting now so I will have a sad bumper on the truck for the next month or so.

The deer did $2600 damge, grille, ac condensor, radiator support, bumper, upper and lower bumper cover inner fender, right fender, hood, and all bumper brackets headlight and turn signals also toast. So a new deer slayer bumper will be a good investment!
