Why not purchase the HX40 from the person who did ALL the research on this... Piers of BD Diesel Performance? Support the people who help make Diesel performance innovations/discoveries, not the johnny-come-latelys that are only in it to make a buck. How in the He!! is that going to further new innovations?

I would like to thank Piers Harry (of BD Diesel Performance), Joe Donnelly and Mark Chapple (of TST), Lawrence Bolton (of Diesel Dynamics), Bill Kondolay (of Diesel Transmission Technology) and last, but certainly not least, Doug Hofeldt (of Air Bulldog induction hoods) for their respective contributions to further our passion. You are true leaders in your respective fields! I for one am VERY PROUD having done business with each and every one of you! Keep up the good work. #ad

Recycle Bin: Prime-Loc fuel filter relocation kit (due to flow restriction), Bosch 275s & VA CPC (upgraded to DD3s... WOW! what a difference!), '00 Dodge/Cummins valve cover (going back to my OE '98. 5 valve cover... tricked out though)

John... why not give some credit to the two guys who started the BOMB test bed trucks. .
Nowel and Scotty1 . . those two also sourced out and found many ways to take the 24 valves to new highs... there are several others that helped along the way but without these two test bed trucks a lot of the vendors would not have surfaced for 24 v's

I have to second the BD source for another reason. One thing some people don't know is that a HX40 isn't just a HX40. By that i mean that there are many (like 40 or so) variations of this model 'charger. How do you know if you're getting the proper one for your pick 'em up truck? I think Piers told me once he has like 3 useless HX40s sitting on the shelf that don't work well with the 5. 9! With the BD one you know you're getting the right thing. Also with the BD kit it's complete and ready to bolt on. Yes clocking the thing is easy and repositioning the wastgate arm isn't too hard provinding you have access to a grinder and welder. To me it's worth paying some extra just to know it's right.

I purchased mine from Diesel Dynamics when they had them on sale a couple of months ago. It came ready to bolt right on.

Also, keep in mind that you will need another downpipe with the HX 40.

willyslover, regarding JUST the HX40, Piers did ALL the research on this... NOT Scott and NOT Nowell. However, Scott and Nowell have made their own contributions to Cummins/Ram Diesel performance. Regarding my thanks to those I feel have made excellent contributions to our passion, these are full time contributors that have made a significant impact in their field of expertise.

I agree 100% d90boy. I got mine from Piers too. Same reasons you did.

Joe Donnelly is another good source for the HX40. Same kit as BD. But about $200 less. Can`t use a credit card though. Couldn`t afford one w/o using a charge card. #ad
