A friend of mine has been asking me where to find a new CTD for his chevy pick-up project. We are looking for a new quiet CTD. I remember that you could be able to buy the complete motor with all the adapters, is this still around?

In 1990 I bought a new (in the crate) 6BTA 5. 9 180hp from Cummins Southwest. I doubt they are still available new, but a re-con should be. Expect to pay out the nose tho, without a core, you are looking at about $12,000. 00. For conversions the aftercooled ve-pumped motors are a little easier to install. No intercooler to fabricate in. They are also quiet. Idling with the hood shut, with twin 4"x72" stacks, they sound just like a big rig
