Where to buy POSITIVE offset 17X9 wheels?

I am ready for tires and I want to go with 285-75-17's. I also want a 9 inch wide rim. I DON'T want the rims to stick out like Dumbo ears!
I found a neat web site for wheel measurements and after measuring the stock alloy wheel set back of approx. 5 7/8 in, I need a 9 inch wheel with about a +20 positive setback. That will put the additional 1 inch wheel width on the outside.
So I have looked all over and the best I can find is about a +15 wheel.

Some H2's would give you an 8. 5" rim with a good compromise bs. My 285-75-17's have worn in the middle do to 60-65 psi most of their life. I'll keep the stock forged wheel and just drop the psi to 55 on my next set. This time I might go with the Nitto Dura Grapplers. $202 ea @ Discount Tire Direct. Delivered,no tax to Ca.

You might check Discount for wheels also - - they have some wheels on sale that are 17 X 9 that don't stick out of the wheel well

Dave, my Toyos are just about done at only 17k... if I am lucky, I'll see 20k.

Partly my fault for my unknowingly running them over inflated at 65psi and wearing down the centers WAY too fast, for until you told me differently. (THANKS, by the way!!). Now I am running them at 50psi just to try to even out the wear so I can get my milaeage warranty on them. The slight underinflation IS working to even out the wear, but it is coming at a cost of the truck NOT handling and sticking to the road as nicely as I am use too.



In any case, what is driving you towards the Nitto Dura Grapplers??

I sure DO wish that MIchelin would make an LTX/AT2 in a 285/75/17 E, but they don't, so I am not sure what I am going to do, partucluarly if Toyo tries to not honor their mileage warranty.

I am looking at the NITTO NTGHT Dura Grappler highway tire. Looks to have a good wear rating.

Clark,I'm going to get about 36,000 out of mine. With the limited rain we get,I think the Dura Grappler will perform as well offroad in the desert as my Toyos do with way better durability. The AT's and the Dura's fill up in a second in the mud anyway. An 8. 5-9. 0" would probably work out better if we want to run higher pressure. I've looked at the Firestone/Bridgestone AT's also but don't want to go to a 315. Their 285-70-17 AT's might be an option for you. They're supposed to deliver the mileage and come in an e-rating.

I found a site, Performanceplustire.com that has a V-tec Raptor wheel that is real close to what I want. They also sell Nitto 285/75-17 dura grapplers. Going to check them out today.

Might also want to check with Centerline wheel. We got wheels for my wife's 04 from them. We have 35" Toyo MT tires, 2" level kit (Lorenz) and no rubbing.
