where to buy replacement lock and lift shocks for my delta toolbox?

I picked up a Delta tool box tonight cheap, but the lock has a key broken off in it (unlocked thankfully!) the lock is very simple to remove and replace, just wondering where to get parts for this thing... Northern Tool perhaps?



gonna have my buddy weld a 50gal aux tank onto the bottom of it!

First try to get the broken key out of it. Paper clip, needle nose pliers or hemostats, and if you are really good, sodder a wire to it. Strong magnet maybe?



Otherwise, take it to tyour local hardware store and start asking around.

Delta toolboxes are pretty popular at farm supply stores and locks and lift cylinders are commonly stocked. Try your nearest Tractor Supply or similar store and ask someone there. If they aren't in stock, I am sure they will order some for you.

I remember when the lift arms for cars were REALLY expensive... . but now you can get 'em at any good automotive supply store.



All you have to do is match up the lengths... . and the end connection styles.



Lots of Fire/EMS trucks use these as well - so you could look in a place that sells supplies for these trucks... .

On edit: The lift arms I am thinking of are sold under the 'Motormite' brand name and are called 'Mighty-Lift'.

I have been to the Delta plant in Jonesboro, AR several times. They have an outlet store there where you can find some real bargains at times.

thanks guys, I'll probably give 'em a call next week.



I ended up getting a replacement lock at Home Depot. it's a pretty universal design.



as for the lift shocks, I found some that were the same length with the same ends, but they were larger diameter... I couldn't compress them at all... they were clearly designed to lift a little more weight than a little aluminum lid! so I didn't buy any shocks, but I'm happy to have it locking... shocks will come later.

Forrest check any local autozone , Pepboys etc. I just saw Lift arms at autozone last week and they had em for toolboxes too! I was shocked. I am gonna pick up a set to have round for mine... . but gotta measure up mine first.
