man I feel like I'm looking for whale oil or something, I can't seem to find castrol syntorq 75w 90 anywhere around B'ham. I would really like to buy it locally and not have to have it delivered any suggestions on who carries this stuff? Do the dealers carry it, if not who makes the stuff they sell? Thanks

I had to go to the stealer for mine. Prepare yourself, they charge you like it's Chivas Regal. (I think it was about 70 or 80 bucks) :--) )

the stuff you get from the stealer with the Mopar label is that castrol with Mopars name on it? They want $17. 20 a qt. for it.

I thought a transmission shop in Texas was bottling it up and selling it for us TDR members. I forget the shop name, but theyre a TDR advertiser.

I think it was about $50-$60 an oil change.

high priced oil

if you pay full retail your are looking at $22. 50-25. 00 per qt. US.

or see if you can get in good with the dealer to give you a better price, or go to the g. m. dealer with the part number that is listed on the I. D. tag on the trans. OR, standard trans in Texas has it for $50. 00 for four qt. pluse shipping. they buy it in bulk, repackage it and send it out. members have done a lot of research here even on other oils. Don't use GL5 listed oils.

just my penny's worth.

Are you talking about Standard Transmission?

got my oil last evening at the GM dealer (part #12346190) for $15. 00 a qt. , I always use my uncle's body shop name and get it at his cost. (hint) when you buy something from a dealer just make up a body or service shop name and get it cheaper, then pay the taxes on it then and they usually won't ask any questions.
